After a disastrous Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri is fortunate to escape Azerbaijan, losing only six points to his teammate and championship rival, Lando Norris. Norris failed to take advantage of Piastri’s errors, finishing a disappointing 7th. 

Max Verstappen went back-to-back in Baku with another win, now equalling 2025 victories with Lando and leading the season in Pole Positions. Verstappen earned his 6th career Grand Slam as he showed the grid why he’s on another level. 

Carlos Sainz snatched a podium finish, beating out teammate Alex Albon to the honours and Lewis Hamilton in his old Ferrari seat! The smooth operator looked right at home, showing his class and experience in taking 3rd place and bringing Williams some much deserved glory.

Welcome to episode 25 of the Box Box Banter Podcast. Still in the depths of the 2025 mid-season break, the fellas are thirsting for Formula 1 content, and the only thing that will quench that thirst is the sweet taste of Daniel Ricciardo glory. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Ki, Ki, Ki!

After suffering a heartbreaking loss at Monaco in 2016, the honey badger got the last laugh in 2018 by earning his redemption in the streets of Monte Carlo. The victory did not come easily, though. With the silver arrows (Mercedes) continued dominance, Daniel was able to snag a cheeky pole position on Saturday to line up a win on Sunday. However, midway through the Grand Prix, Ricciardo radioed in that he was losing power. His Red Bull was again letting him down, as his car lost 25% of its power, making him much slower than the man chasing him in second place, ex-teammate Sebastien Vettel in the Ferrari.

Daniel, determined as ever, nutted up big time and kept the German behind him as he masterfully navigated the tight streets to take his 2nd and final victory in his Red Bull machine.

The fellas had a lot of fun reliving this one and even splashed out some hard-earned cash for the DR3 x St Hugo wine to celebrate the smiling assassin. Round 14 took place in Budapest at the Hungaroring and saw more McLaren fuckery for the second year in a row.

🏆 Lando Norris lucks into another victory after McLaren fumbled Oscar’s race by condemning him to the 2-stop strategy. Norris held off Piastri’s blistering pace in the final laps with overtaking once again proving to be extremely difficult on this circuit.

⚠️ Piastri handled the missed victory with his signature composure as he still holds a 9-point lead in the championship going into the break. We, on the other hand, did not keep our composure as TV screens, phones and walls were in imminent danger.

⚔️ With 10 races and 250 points still up for grabs, it seems every race is going to be a stressful watch as the McLarens continue to do battle. We hope we still have some hair left by the end of the season.

EP. 22 - The Belgian GP was delayed for over an hour as the FIA took overly cautious measures in wet conditions. Hopes of a classic wet race were dashed quickly, and the wet weather tires remained dry in their blankets. Oscar Piastri takes his 6th victory of the season and extends his championship lead over teammate and rival, Lando Norris, to 16 points.

Oscar dominated the sprint weekend after becoming the fastest man to ever race around Spa. He knocked off the previous lap record held by Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes W11.

Hamilton started the race from pit lane but put on a masterclass as he was the first to strap on slick tires and worked his way up to P7. Verstappen, in his shitbox, remained stuck behind Charles Leclerc's Ferrari for all 44 laps as he tried to hunt his first podium in 5 races.
