Responding to threats of legal action from the Utah Transit Authority, the Perry City Council last week reinstated a .30% sales tax that helps fund the UTA. Perry City will hold a pub­lic town hall Thursday, Feb. 19, to gather feedback on what of­ficials described as a “pilot pro­gram for unification” between the Perry Police Department and the Tremonton–Garland Po­lice Department. The Brigham City Council on Wednesday approved the donation of surplus police radios to Box Elder County, a decision rooted in the city’s departure from Box Elder Communication Center emergency dispatch and the continuing effort to maintain communication between agencies now operating under different dispatch systems.
