Gratitude doesn't mean pretending that the hard stuff isn't there. Today, Cristabelle guides us through Psalm 116. This psalm shows us that we can be real and vulnerable. So many of us have gone through deep sorrow and suffering. I don't know all of your stories, but I do know that most of you are survivors. You have survived something and God saved your life. You have a beating heart right now because God has a plan for you. But every day still can be so hard. Even in the middle of that pain, we can still give God praise and thanksgiving for who He is and what He has done.
We must learn to give thanks with intention. Not just when things are going well, but even in the middle of our pain and suffering.
This is the second audio devotion in the series "A Grateful Heart".
A GRATEFUL HEART: PSALM 116 PRACTICAL APPLICATION
1. Journal some of the struggles you have been going through lately. Just below that, journal some of the things you are thankful for.
2. Pray over what you have just written down. Intentionally ask God to help you with the struggles, and then intentionally thank God for the blessings!
3. Share your brain injury story with one person this week. Include the things you are thankful for, and give God the glory for bringing you this far.
