What does the long road of brain injury recovery look like for survivors and their caregivers? In a car accident on the way to work over five years ago, Ryan Jones suffered a brain injury and heart attack. With doctors unsure whether he would survive, Ryan received cutting-edge treatment at Vancouver General Hospital, becoming the first cardiac arrest patient to receive a brain bolt procedure. Months later, he woke up from a coma and began his recovery journey. In this episode, Donna and Ryan explain how Ryan was able to push forward with his brain injury and gain the support he needed and return to work as a firefighter. Listen now to hear these two share an inspiring message about persevering despite uncertainty and against all odds.
