Brand the Interpreter

Maria-Letiția Chiculiță is a professional interpreter working in the translation and localization industry for over 22 years now. She does both consecutive (including over-the-phone) and onsite plus remote/online simultaneous interpreting. She is specialized in LIVE interpreting for media/TV.

She has provided interpreting services at a very high level, both in her mother country and abroad: Government, Public Administration, NATO, embassies, public institutions, ministries, plus multinational companies and big corporations.

She is a Language graduate from the University of Bucharest (Translation Studies and Conference Interpreting Techniques) and a graduate from an European MA Program in Conference Interpreting (EN-FR-RO) organized by the University of Bucharest with the support of the European Union.

She successfully passed the English/French and English/Romanian HC-PICSI (Preliminary Interpreter Candidate Skills Interview for Healthcare) - exams, diplomas awarded by LanguageSTAT (USA), and she is also a KUDO-certified interpreter.

Currently, she focuses not only on doing conference interpreting, but also on giving interviews, lectures and providing online training and webinars on demand on interpreting techniques, plus tips and tricks for aspiring interpreters.

She is fluent in English, French and Romanian, and a beginner in Italian and Spanish.

Jennifer Santiagos has a BA in Spanish from Wheaton College (IL) and is a freelance Certified Healthcare Interpreter™ with 12 years of professional experience. Previously a missionary for three years in Nicaragua, upon returning to the US she clearly sensed a call to medical interpreting, where her language and compassion gifts found their intersection. Over the years she has also branched out into educational, immigration, community, and conference interpreting. 

When California Assembly Bill 5 threatened her livelihood and put language access at risk in September 2019, Jennifer decided to become a grassroots advocate with CoPTIC. She met multiple times with lawmakers, mobilized colleagues, and wrote an op-ed which was published in CalMatters in August 2020 during the home stretch of their advocacy efforts -- ultimately contributing to the achievement of an exemption from AB 5. Jennifer currently serves  as a steering committee member of CoPTIC America. She resides in Orange County, California with her husband and their 5-year-old son.

Matthew Perret was born and raised in the Thames Valley (near London, UK). He holds a BA in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the Queen’s College, University of Oxford, he worked for 6 years as staff interpreter at SCIC, then freelanced (mainly for EU institutions). His languages are A: English B: Spanish C: French, Italian, Portuguese  And is an Interpreter-Trainer (specializing in English “B”): with various European universities, & Shanghai International Studies University since 2016.  He’s an English “retour” trainer for UN, EU, African Union,&  AIIC Training.  And a Project leader of SCIC-funded “Online Resources for Conference Interpreter Training” (ORCIT), as well as a Writer-performer of theatre and comedy & trainer in public speaking.
