This week we welcome Gospel music legends, The Blackwoods!

 

"The Blackwoods" bring the Blackwood family's gospel music tradition to the Branson stage!  The son of gospel music royalty, R.W. Blackwood, and his talented wife, Donna, carry on the family tradition of uplifting, inspirational, and just plain good gospel music!

 

After spending 15 years entertaining packed venues in Pigeon Forge, the Blackwood family has made their home in Branson.  They'll be performing the music made famous by the Blackwood Brothers Quartet, and sharing heartwarming stories from the family's history in music.

This week we welcome our friend, Kelly Smith, from Ozarks FOX AM!

 

Kelly Smith has been a professional singer for 28 years.  She knew she wanted to be a performer at a very early age.  When she was eight she began singing and performing for anyone who would listen.  Later Kelly started playing the piano and writing her own material  This led to her joining a couple of bands and performing in local talent shows.  

 

In 1991 her road to Branson started with a job performing with Branson's founding show, the Baldknobbers.  

 

After that, Kelly joined the cast of Legends in Concert and traveled with them all over the US and Australia as Cher, Shania Twain, and Olivia Newton-John.  Her amazing ability to recreate Cher led to her being chosen to sing the voice of Cher for the television movie "And The Beat Goes On":

 

In 2004, Kelly also performed with Tony Orlando and his famed Branson Christmas Show, and also sang back up for Roy Clark's Christmas album.  

 

Kelly now works for KOLR 10 TV and KOZL 27 in Springfield, Missouri as a Co-Host for Ozarks FOX AM.  Kelly's husband, David Smith, is also a very talented musician and can be seen performing with Raiding The Country Vault at the Americana Theatre.

Mary Fay Jackson is a songwriter, recording artist, musician, television producer and promoter.  She is the host of an award winning television program called "Texas Country Gospel".  This program airs weekly on Family Friendly Network and is broadcast over 300 cable companies plus internationally in India and the UK. 

Mary Fay's signature song "Roses" charted #6 by Country Gospel Music Guild and "In Spite of Myself" charted #2. 

In 2012 she was inducted into International Country Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame and just recently was awarded Top 10 Nominee for Piooneer/Living Legend Award by International Country Music Association.  In 2018, Mary Fay, received her Doctor of Music degree from Emmanuel Baptist University.

This week we welcome, Faith's Journey, from Absolutely Country, Definitely Gospel show at the Uptown Café!

 

Faith's Journey is a gospel trio based in Branson, Missouri. With over 50 years of singing gospel music experience, these individuals are no stranger to music fans across the country.

 

This group combined has an amazing tight harmony which blends the traditional quartet with the bluegrass country sound and a splash of contemporary harmony to make the unique sound of Faith's Journey. Faith's Journey is in it's fourth season in Branson, Missouri performing four days a week at the Jackie B. Goode Uptown Cafe and Dinner Theatre with a 2pm lunch show called "Absolutely Country, Definitely Gospel".

 

They are also featured artist at Silver Dollar City and travel 130 dates a year at churches and events all across the country.

This week we welcome also welcome Country Music Recording star, Leona Williams!

 

Leona Williams was destined to become a Country Music Entertainer.  She landed her first radio show at the age of 15, simply called "Leona Sings" in Jefferson City, Missouri.  That journey would take her all over the world and allow her to sing before thousands and thousands of Country Music fans.

  

Leona moved to Nashville in the late 1960s from a small town in Missouri called Vienna, and was soon recording for Hickory Records with such hits as "Once More" and "Yes Ma'am, He Found Me In A Honky Tonk".  Since then, Leona has traveled worldwide and opened shows for some of country music's top entertainers and made numerous personal appearances at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Leona later teamed up with Merle Haggard for a top ten duet called "The Bull and the Beaver" and a duet album followed called HEART TO HEART. During this time, she would write some of Merle's biggest hits including "You Take Me For Granted" and "Someday When Things Are Good."

  

Leona, a Missouri native, was inducted into the Country Music Association of Texas Hall of Fame in 1999.  She was also honored with the prestigious George D. Hay Award in 2002 and was also inducted into the Missouri Country Music Hall of Fame.  In 2011, Leona was awarded "Entertainer of the Year" by R.O.P.E. (Reunion of Professional Entertainers).

  

Whether in a recording studio, dance or concert hall or on stage at the Grand Ole Opry, Leona Williams always gives her very best to her fans and her music. She definitely presents a special class to the world of Country Music.  Her talented son Ron will also be performing with her this week.

Trey started his singing career in a small Baptist church at the age of three and hasn't stopped since.  He has shared the stage with artists such as The Cathedrals, The Kinsmen Quartet, The Happy Goodmans, The Gaither Homecoming Tour, the late Dottie Rambo and traveled for nearly three years with the Plainsmen Quartet.

 

Born and raised in the Lone Star State, Trey was a senior in High School when he joined Grand Country in 2003.  Trey was performing at the National Quartet Convention where Mike Patrick first met him.  Mike was so impressed with Trey that he flew him to Branson for an audition and hired him on the spot.  At the young age of 17, Trey packed up and moved to Branson to start the job, finishing high school by cor

This week we welcome, Branson's founding show, The Branson Famous Baldknobbers!

 

In 1959, the four Mabe brothers Bob, Bill, Lyle, and Jim began performing twice a week in a converted roller skating rink on the Lake Taneycomo lakefront entertaining visiting fishermen at night.  Little did they know in the late 1950's that they would become the founding fathers of Branson's music show industry.

 

The brothers combined popular country tunes with Ozark Mountain music and threw in great, hillbilly comedy to entertain growing Branson audiences.  

 

In 1969, the Baldknobbers, as the brothers called themselves, built a theater on Highway 76. 

 

Now 60 years later, the big-red curtain raises every night at 8pm. to entertain Branson visitors.

Be prepared to see action-packed entertainment in Clay Cooper's Country Express!  Clay and his cast of 24 incredible entertainers show their versatility while performing all styles of music including country, rock n roll, gospel, and patriotic.  The singing, dancing, and hysterical comedy will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!  Clay and his gang guarantee a family-friendly show great for all ages!  Clay Cooper's Country Express is MORE than country! Clay has been performing for Branson audiences since the age of 16, originally coming to Branson to perform with a kid's band known as the Texas Goldminors.  Clay loved singing and playing bass, and loved meeting new people.  What better place to do it than Branson!  He continued performing in several Branson shows and now celebrates his 32nd season performing in Branson. Clay hangs out after every show, greeting the audience and meeting new fans!

 

In November and December, Clay Cooper's Country Express features an Ozark Mountain Christmas Celebration that has become a "MUST SEE" in Branson. The first half features highlights from our regular season show, and the second half is all Christmas! This is one show you DON'T want to miss!

 

It's no secret Clay Cooper has always been one of Branson's favorite shows and in 2018 he took it to an even higher level with an all-new production show.  One of the additions is the men's trio, Third Power.  

 

Third Power is comprised of Jordan Dickison, David Griffin and James Redden.  They have great harmonies which will have you mesmerized.  Each of them have made great marks in the music business independent of the trio:

 

Jordan Dickison was born in Utah into a family who loves the arts and encouraged him vocally and theatrically from a young age. He started performing as an extra in Disney Channel movies at the age of 13 and quickly transitioned to community theater and musicals in high school. He received an Associates of the Arts at Western Wyoming Community College and a Bachelors of Music, Dance and Theater at BYU. While attending BYU, he had the opportunity to be a member of the Young Ambassadors performing group. He was able to serve others and praise God as he toured the US and Scandinavia performing for everyone from royalty to children's outreach and loved every minute of it! Out of college he performed in a couple of shows at Tuacahn Theater in St George, UT including Greece and the first regional performance of The Little Mermaid. He moved to Branson in 2013 were he was blessed to have performed in #1 Hits of the 60s and the the Showboat Branson Belle. Jordan loves Branson and considers it his home. He loves running with his son Brigham and exploring the beauty of Branson. He would like to thank his amazing wife Sarah for her endless support. He is thrilled and humbled to have the opportunity to work with the incredible cast and crew of Clay Cooper's Country Express and Hot Rods and High Heels! 

 

James Redden feels very blessed to be a part of Clay Cooper Country Express!  He was raised in Picher, Oklahoma, where he spent most of his time as a child singing and playing the piano. He was a Hollywood Finalist on Season 12 of American Idol. After Idol, he moved to Branson where he has lived for the past 4 years. While in Branson, he has performed at The White House Theatre in Disney's The Little Mermaid, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, and The Showboat Branson Belle. He is also a featured vocalist at Kings Castle Theatre. He is very grateful for the love and support from his friends and family and would like to thank Clay and Tina Cooper for giving him this amazing.

This week we welcome, singer and songwriter, Billy Yates!

 

Billy Yates is a Nashville based singer/songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists such as George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, Gary Allan, Joe Nichols, Chris Young, John Michael Montgomery, Daryle Singletary, The Oak Ridge Boys, Gene Watson, Rhonda Vincent, and more.  He also co-wrote the George Jones classics, "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair" and the Grammy-award winning, "Choices".

 

A seasoned entertainer, Billy  

Yates also tours Europe extensively where his traditional style of Country Music has created thousands of fans who attend his sold-out concerts in about every European Country.  

 

You can see him performing as a part of "Raiding the Country Vault," at the Americana Theatre.  This production has tapped top country music industry talent to take audiences on a journey through the greatest hits of Country Music - America's most beloved genre.  

 

Billy also has his own show, "Billy Yates, Songwriters In The Round".  Billy introduces audiences to the world of performing songwriters, where two hit writer/artists from Nashville join Billy onstage to casually tell the stories behind the songs they play.

 

This relaxed and unscripted show allows you to enjoy the spirit of what makes acoustic performances of songs, by the ones who wrote them, so great. You'll feel the raw emotions and should be prepared to laugh and possibly cry as these performers share their heart and soul in this "like no other" experience in Branson, Missouri.

This week we welcome, from Legends In Concert, Todd Bradshaw as Kenny Chesney! 

 

Todd Bradshaw grew up in Maryville, Missouri and didn't start his singing career until the later part of high school when he realized his God given talent.  He actually disliked country music until one day when he sang a country music song at a wedding. It was that day that he realized his love for country music.

During his college years, he sang at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and an Economic Development minor.

He has performed in several shows here in Branson such as Shoji Tabuchi, Lost in the Fifties, Sundown Jubilee at Silver Dollar City, and spent 10 years as the male vocalist at the Grand Jubillee and Comedy Jamboree at the Grand Country Music Hall.  Todd is currently performing as Kenny Chesney for Legends in Concert.

His favorite activity is golf: he lives and breathes it!!  He also enjoys playing billiards and hanging out with the family.  Todd and his lovely wife Elizebeth have three beautiful children, Luke, Grace, and Charlie and they are members of Faith Life Church here in Branson!

This week we welcome, from the Imax Little Opry, Bluegrass favorites, The Petersens! 

 

The Petersens are an award-winning bluegrass band from Branson, MO. They are in their seventh season of shows and currently perform at the Little Opry Theatre in the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex.

 

In 2015, the band received international attention when banjo player, Ellen Petersen, competed in the singing reality TV show, American Idol, and placed in the top 48.

 

The family has played at hundreds of festivals and churches throughout the United States and in 2015 completed their first international tour in Ireland. 

 

Audiences are entertained as the band performs bluegrass standards, gospel favorites, and are sure to laugh at the sibling humor on stage.
