The Braves beat the Mariners 3–2 in a pitchers’ duel as Bryce Elder struck out nine over six innings and Atlanta’s bullpen fanned seven more. Matt Olson delivered the deciding ninth-inning homer after Mauricio Dubón’s two-run double supplied the early offense. Atlanta also reshuffled the rotation, starting Martín Pérez instead of Grant Holmes in the series finale, and discussed options for lining up Holmes, Chris Sale, Elder, and Spencer Strider for the upcoming Dodgers series.

Lindsay Crosby breaks down Atlanta’s frustrating 5–4 loss to Seattle, focusing on the pivotal sixth inning: J.R. Ritchie’s control issues, Walt Weiss not having a reliever ready, and the swing that flipped the game. He credits the Braves’ offense for crushing Logan Gilbert with constant hard contact but getting unlucky and drawing only two walks, with four solo homers not enough. Crosby argues Aaron Bummer’s declining velocity, worsening metrics, and shaky outing make him the clear roster move to activate Raisel Iglesias, while noting other bullpen availability concerns and speculating on pitching plans.

The Braves take two of three from Detroit and enter May atop MLB at 22-10, but the series highlights roster concerns in third base, left field, and bullpen depth. Lindsay Crosby breaks down Austin Riley’s severe slump and possible causes, including approach issues versus righties and lingering effects from core surgery. He reviews Atlanta’s long-running left field production problems and why Mike Yastrzemski’s struggles look more like pressing and swing decisions than age decline, plus recent defensive lapses. In the bullpen, he argues the team lacks a fourth reliable leverage arm, critiques Joel Payamps/Aaron Bummer usage, and previews reinforcements with Spencer Strider returning Sunday and Raisel Iglesias expected back in Seattle.
