Nick joins me in the studio to discuss how parents approach raising children through sports. Specifically we talk AAU basketball. What he's experienced through his time coaching his son, and things he sees as a spectator in the crowd watching other teams and families. How the game is played, and how he's approaching it. The pressure parents feel or apply to their kids. Then we dive into the parallels of "the struggle" we teach kids to overcome through sports, compared to the struggle of raising Sailors in the Navy. 

Leadership, is one of my least favorite topics to talk about, because I am not an expert and dislike being thought as such. There are many flaws within the military and it's building of leaders, the expectations of leaders, and what senior "leaders" feel they need to do to connect or be successful with the next generation. Let's explore some of these thoughts. 

I sit down with my wife Nikki and her older brother Jerome to talk about what it was like for them growing up as military children while their dad served in the Navy. We talk about valued lessons, fond memories and the trials and tribulations of a their childhood. Then how they now as serving parents are trying to make our children's lives better.
