  • My Dad Was A Good Man || Bread & Butter Podcast - Ep 40

This episode takes a different turn from our usual format, as we couldn’t close out the year without honouring the memory of Emmanuel’s father, Elder Joseph Asuquo, who passed away this September.

Emmanuel reflects on his relationship with his dad, spanning from childhood through adulthood, the struggles they overcame together, and how they ultimately grew closer as father and son. He shares the lessons learned and how these have shaped him into the man he is today. Emmanuel also speaks about the profound influence his father had, not just on his immediate family, but on his church and the broader community.

In the wake of his dad’s passing, Emmanuel has gained valuable insights. Chief among them is the importance of being a truly good man, of leaving a lasting, positive impact on the lives of others. Though this episode isn’t our typical format, it can still offer guidance on navigating loss and finding resilience. If you’ve recently lost someone dear, we hope this conversation brings a measure of peace.

  • More Connections, More Coins || Bread & Butter Podcast - Ep 39 FT Bible, Babes and Bants.

This week, we’re joined by Seye and Henderson from BBB (Bible, Babes, and Bants). Shout out to Eman, who couldn’t be with us this time. We kick off the episode by asking the boys about their “bread and butter” and discovering how BBB came to be. They share how Eman played a pivotal role in their lives, from serving as their youth leader to inspiring their career paths.

They open up about the obstacles they faced when first entering the corporate world, the lessons learned along the way, and the influence of their faith in guiding their journeys. They also discuss the incredible doors that have opened through their podcast, including an opportunity to appear on BET’s “Dating Black.”

Throughout this conversation, Seye and Henderson offer insights that are both humorous and inspiring. They emphasise the importance of their wives’ support, making it clear they wouldn’t be the men they are today without them. One key takeaway is the value of having a circle of friends who push you forward, not out of competition, but out of a desire to see each other succeed.

  • Eat Change For Breakfast || Bread & Butter Podcast - Ep 38

This week, Eman and I are back, diving into all things change, risk-taking, and embracing failure. We discuss the importance of having mentors who have walked the path before you, mentors who not only allow you to fail but also provide opportunities for growth and learning through those failures.

We explore the power of taking risks, whether calculated or not, and how fear of change often keeps us stuck. But stepping out and taking even a small 1% change can create a massive impact. We also highlight the importance of due diligence, researching, learning, and educating yourself to reduce the fear of taking that next step.

In this episode, we also tackle two dilemmas. One focuses on job hunting and the different approaches you can take when your searches aren’t yielding results. The other dives into life insurance and whether it’s possible to insure family members without their knowledge.

This is an episode full of valuable insights, practical advice, and knowledge bombs. And of course, we wrap up with our W’s and L’s of the week.
