Saturday morning cartoons were the best! Who among us doesn’t get a serious case of nostalgia overload when we remember eating breakfast and watching the new episode of EXO Squad, Savage Dragon or Skeleton Warriors? These are the shows that helped defined many of our childhoods, and even when they disappeared due to FCC regulations, we still remember them warmly. The World Cup is over and France came out on top in a stunning 4-2 victory over Croatia, winning a jaw-dropping $38M in cash prizes and the World Cup trophy, estimated to be worth about $20M. Croatia didn’t do too shabby either, walking away with a respectable $28M in cash. That got me to thinking, what would happen if every team who played (even the ones who didn’t win) walked away with a trophy and equal prize money? In this episode, we discuss what we think of participation trophies. We also ask the question, “What would life be like if everyone won a prize just for showing up?”
