2 Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not
war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling
down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every
high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of
God, bringing every thought into captivity to the
obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all
disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
● Every thought that comes our way is to be
examined by the Word of God.
○ We are to filter our thoughts.
○ Does this thought agree with what I believe?
○ Thoughts can have life attached to them, and
they can have death attached to them.
● We need to quench those thoughts
○ To quench means to eliminate the fuel
supply. The fuel supply to thoughts is
attention.
○ To take our attention off thoughts that don’t
agree with our beliefs, we need to set our
attention on our beliefs.
● We need to take those thoughts captive.
○ To take something captive you will need
help.
○ To take something captive you need to
surround whatever it is you want to take
captive.
○ The same scriptures you use to form your
beliefs are the same scriptures you use to
defend your beliefs.

spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself

soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy
name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not
all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases
● Is. 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried
our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was
wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised
for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace
was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your
requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally,
brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are
noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are
pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report, if there is any virtue and if there is
anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. 9 The
things which you learned and received and heard and
saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with
you.
