Open Championship week is here and as the players get ready to tackle Royal Troon and fans get their coffee setup ready for early morning golf, the Break80 Podcast is here for it with a preview for the upcoming Open Championship.
Tim starts off the pod by telling a Bryson DeChambeau story he heard while at the John Deere Classic a few weeks ago and what it was like down in the Quad Cities for this years event.
We talk big shot Bob McIntyre and the crazy break he got with a sprinkler in the fescue on way to winning his home open, the Scottish Open last week. We have a few other thoughts on the Scottish Open and how it relates to Royal Troon this week.
Will one of the favorites win this week or will someone come out of nowhere to win the Open Championship? Is the Postage Stamp at Royal Troon the greatest par 3 in golf? We will talk Scottish weather and some picks and darkhorse candidates to play well this week at the Open Championship.

The boys are back this week fresh off time at TPC Twin Cities Monday for the 3M Open media day. We will discuss our golf out there and what we learned about this years 3M Open.

Since Scottie Scheffler won his 6th event of the year this week, we thought we would spend the majority of this podcast talking about something out of the ordinary, our trip west for the Scottsdale National Xperience with PXG.
We were lucky enough to get the full Scottsdale National experience this last week. We will go through it all from club fitting with PXG, the golf courses, our play and all the amenities during our stay at Scottdale National. Mike even topped off the trip with his 1st ever ace!
We will dip into the PGA Tour and LIV Golf at the end of the podcast as Scottie got a dramatic win over Tom Kim in a playoff, that was interrupted by climate protesters and the hole needed to be recut on 18. Tyrrell Hatton won on the LIV Tour and we will go into that and preview an upcoming episode where we talk about what it is like at a LIV event.

After an invitation to do the PXG Xperience from Dr. Bob Parsons, the podcast is live from Scottsdale National this week to talk about U.S. Open drama.
Bryson DeChambeau fought a leaky driver and used a incredible short game to pull off a gritty victory at Pinehurst No. 2 as Rory McIlroy had a gut wrenching collapse missing two short putts on the last 4 holes to lose the U.S. Open trophy in his attempt to break his 10 year drought of major championships.
We are discussing what is the larger story, Bryson winning or Rory's collapse? The Bryson Dechambeau story is a fascinating one as he has seemingly made a complete 180 in his career when it comes to popularity as he has reinvented himself and his game and the cherry on top was this victory in what has been a remarkable major season for Bryson.
Rory McIlroy, who faces maybe more pressure than any player in the world to win a major, suffered a major setback by missing a couple very short putts in route to losing by a stroke. Where will Rory's career go from here? Will he ever get major number five?
We are here at the beautiful Scottsdale National and did a full PXG club fitting, we will talk a little about it this week(and much more next week) and give our thoughts so far on the trip.
All that and some professional golf superlatives to have some fun to finish the podcast on this week's episode.

U.S. Open week is here and Scottie Scheffler will head to Pinehurst No. 2 as the heaviest favorite to win a major as any player has been in over a decade. After his 5th win of the year last week at the Memorial, the world's top player seems primed to win his third career major and continue his remarkable season. We will talk about the golf course and players we think have what it takes to win "golf's toughest test."
It is state tournament time here in Minnesota for high school golf and as coaches, we have a few players make it to the biggest stage in high school golf. A discussion takes place on things to expect when playing big tournaments which any listener can use when playing in big tournaments.
Finally, the Break80 Podcast is on the road again next week as we head to Arizona. We will be treated to the PXG Xperience at Scottsdale National Golf Club. We will preview what we will be doing and what we are really excited about this trip.

U.S. Open season is here and this week we both crowned a U.S. Women's Open champion, as well as having the longest day of golf at U.S. Open sectionals around the country.
Yuka Saso played spectacular golf to win going away at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania. She made an amazing 4 birdies in 5 holes to pull away on a difficult course. We discuss the U.S. Women's Open and all the great venues they have coming up in the next 20 years.
Bob McIntyre got his first PGA Tour win this week at the Canadian Open. It was extra special as he had his father on the bag for his one shot victory over Ben Griffin. The PGA Tour will head to Muirfield Village this week for one of its signature events of the season - The Memorial.
Mike and Tim headed to Wisconsin to play a variety of courses, we will preview what we did and talk about our upcoming Wisconsin golf episode.
Big things are coming up for the podcast as we are heading to Scottsdale National in the coming weeks and we will also be having some give aways.

Xander Schauffele quieted the critics this week by taking home his first career major at the PGA Championship at Valhalla in Louisville, Kentucky. He held off a charging Bryson DeChambeau with a clutch birdie putt on the 72nd hole to hoist the Wanamaker trophy.
The crazy thing about the week was that Xander's victory wasn't the top story. Scottie Scheffler got arrested on Friday morning outside of the golf club in one of the most bizarre stories in recent memory from professional golf. Scottie still managed to finish in the top 10 with all the distractions going on, which is an impressive feat in its own right.
We will dive into all kinds of topics from the PGA Championship and discuss the dominance of Nelly Korda as she won again on the LPGA Tour this week, making it 6 wins in 7 events for the best women's player in the world.

Bob Parsons, the founder and CEO of Parsons Xtreme Golf, better known as PXG, was in the twin cities and we were lucky enough to get to sit down with him for an interview.
Bob talked about his childhood growing up in Baltimore and how his combat time in Vietnam as part of the Marine Corps molded him into the person he is today. Bob is one of the most successful businessmen in America, founding multiple companies, including GoDaddy and now PXG Golf.
He gets into his time in Vietnam and battling PTSD in the years and decades following and how he helps other veterans with both his story and donations to various charities. Bob and his wife Renee have multiple philanthropic causes they are passionate about helping and making a positive impact in the lives of many people.
Bob talked about his passion for golf and how that led him to start PXG. PXG is one of the few golf companies to come along in the last decade with staying power in an industry dominated by companies that have been around forever. PXG has been able to make their imprint in the golf club and apparel world by doing things differently, with a direct to consumer approach rather than putting their clubs in the big box stores. Bob will get into how he got into this business and the challenges that come along with breaking through in the golf industry.
Bob Parsons is an American success story and he has a new best selling book out titled "Fire in the Hole!" The book is full of amazing stories and at the end of this podcast episode he tells one of the funniest stories you will ever hear from his high school days in Baltimore.
