Hank Worth is kidnapped and shot. Doc is called in to care for him but will the men who called him let his word of honor save him from being killed? Matt struggles between the man who can't talk and the father who wants to know more while three other men want to make sure Doc never talks. It's a complicated scenario that made Gunsmoke the mature template for most westerns to follow.
