Breakfast With Barry Lee

Today is Kentucky Derby Day, Homebrew Day, and after months of asking, my brother-in-law John makes his debut on the podcast.

Today Barry celebrates National Nurses Day and School Lunch Hero Day. His special guest on the podcast is Abby Walters who shares the family fun happenings at next weekend's Strasburg Mayfest.

Barry's guest on today's podcast is Allison Mondell, Development Manager with Seniors First. They chat about the new name and the variety of services they offer area seniors. Barry also observes Cinco De Mayo, Astronaut Day, and Silence The Shame Day which strives to erase the stigma associated with mental illness.

Barry's guest on this episode is Niki Foster with the Front Royal-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and they chat about the upcoming Wine and Craft Festival on May 21st.

Today is National Foster Care Day, and joining Barry on the podcast is Tina Marie Scully, Executive Director of F.R.O.G. (Families Reaching out Group). Tina and her husband have fostered 57 children in a little over 20 years.

On this episode, Barry shares his gratitude for all those involved in making the 95th Apple Blossom Festival a huge success. After the parade, he experienced a bizarre question from a total stranger while waiting in line to use the bathroom.

It's May the oneth ... a brand new month (notice the rhyme?). On this episode Barry observes May Day, Lemonade Day and salutes the Public Works Department of Winchester for the quick clean-up following the fireworks and parades.

It's parade day at the Apple Blossom Festival, and it's also National Sense of Smell Day. Ahh ... the smell of funnel cake and hot sausage subs; Barry has put them all together in a tribute song to Festival foods.

On 'Hairball Awareness Day' Barry performs one of his better impersonations that he enjoys sharing with fellow cat owners.

It's Apple Blossom week and Barry shares some special memories that he has collected in his 26 years of emceeing the Queen's Dinner. Two stories that he shares on this podcast involve Chevy Chase and Lee Greenwood.
