Today’s special guest is a respected name who is breaking barriers for transgender individuals in the entertainment industry. Hollywood has made a beautiful step forward in putting transgender lives on display in the best way possible telling their stories.
Cece Asuncion is a well-known Filipino American producer, modeling agency director and television producer. Cecilio “Cece” Asuncion is an out and proud gay Filipino producer and director, based in Los Angeles, CA. His journey in the entertainment industry began when he directed and produced What’s The T? Cece created and co-produced STRUT on Oxygen Network, What’s The T? and a few documentaries. He cast participant, following his work as the director for Slay Model Management, the worlds first transgender model agency. Cece’s accolades include prestigious awards for exceptional achievement, LGBT advocacy, outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the quality of life for the LGBT community, such as:  2017 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Reality Series, STRUT 2013 Outstanding Filipino American Award for LGBT Advocacy.

Welcome to our 1 Year Anniversary special episode on the Breakfast with Tiffany Show podcast! In celebration of achieving another major milestone, joining us is the iconic Lavelle Smith Jr. from the US. With the cutting edge of today’s entertainment industry with his award-winning dance routines and his expertise as a movement stylist.

Lavelle is a long-time friend of Tiffany’s and they discuss about the pandemic with the concerns and the effects it had on them. Lavelle confesses how he began to “eat his feelings” during this time which lead to them going on a soul search to take care of themselves again. He emphasizes how happy he is and how important it is to have that joy in one’s life.  We then delve into Lavelle's childhood and learn when their love for dance first began. He mentions the great support system he had growing up, yet the awareness he had to have around racism as a black man. Lavelles tells us how important representation is for many marginalized people.

Lavelle Smith Jr. is a long-time innovator and a very respected artist. As a choreographer, he created the steps that grabbed the attention of artists such as Michael & Janet Jackson, and the Rolling Stones. TLC, En Vogue, Teena Marie, Diana Ross, Rihanna, Beyoncé, TLC, Rod Stewart, and many more famous musicians. Whether he’s working in a music video, film, television show, commercial, or even a live tour, he makes movement a part of everything we see. It’s no wonder he’s at the top of his game. Five-time Winner of the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARD for BEST CHOREOGRAPHY 1992 for “ My Lovin’, “ 1993 for “Free Your Mind”, 1994 for “Whata Man”, 1995 for “Scream”, and 2003 for Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love, as well as the recipient Of the MUSIC VIDEO PRODUCERS Award twice for Outstanding Choreography. He Is one of the youngest inductees into the “GALLERY OF GREATS”, and has received numerous other award nominations, including the EMMY and the winner of the SSDC BOB FOSSE AWARD for BEST CHOREOGRAPHY. He has been inducted into the DuPont Manuel Hall of Fame. Lavelle was a judge and mentor on the “Move Like Michael Jackson” Television show in Europe, England, Holland, and Belgium.

Trans parents may form their families in a range of ways, including through biological parenthood, step-parenthood, adoption, fostering, and assisted reproduction, with an increasing number of options available to trans people wishing to become parents.
Findings that children with trans parents showed good quality relationships with their parents and good psychological well-being challenges the practice of restricting parental rights on the basis of a parent’s gender identity.

In this episode, Tiffany invites Dr. Kate Stone (She/Her) from the UK to share her philosophy, her coming-out story as a transwoman, and work with renowned companies around the world with creative designs.

Kate describes life as a piece of clothing. "You need to wear it first, to know if you like it." We learn that Kate was always curious as a kid about how things worked and find her passion as a scientist, but she hid the fact that she enjoyed girls' clothing. Years later after being married, Kate still hid this secret even after having 3 kids of her own. At 38, Kates's wife found out and showed no support. However, Kate learned that what she had considered her weakness all these years, was actually her superpower! Kate mentions a sense of regret for not being who they truly outgrow the fear of others judging them. She continues to explain the changes after COVID with work, the importance of telling your story in your own way, and her discoveries as a scientist. Kate says that we are all connected to the universe, ARE the universe and the answer to everything is donuts! Lastly, Kate leaves us with a piece of advice “Life just gets better when you follow your true self, follow your dreams, and don’t let yourself get weighed down by regrets,”

Dr. Kate Stone has a degree in electronics from Salford University and Ph.D. in physics from Cambridge University.  Kate has spent the last decade on a journey of discovery from the world of science to creative design.  Kate and her team at Novalia have developed a new technology platform with which they create products that are a delightful blend of being magical, old-fashioned, and futuristic. Over the last few years with her team, she has created experiences for large brands as part of advertising campaigns, working with Pizza Hut, Mcdonald's, Bud Light, Hershey's, and IKEA.
