The post-mortem of the Liberal Party's collapse continues today as calls for a gender quota intensify.

After the 2022 election, a party review found the Liberals failed to appeal to female voters and should work to pre-select women in 50 per cent of seats.

Also while the Liberal vote collapsed in the cities, it held up for their Coalition partner, the Nationals, in large parts of regional Australia and the Nats are now eyeing more seats on the opposition's frontbench.

And lights, camera — and potentially no more action. 

The latest potential casualty of Donald Trump's tariff war is the film industry, following the US President's announcement on social media that he would put a 100 per cent tariff on all movies "produced in foreign lands".  

So what could this mean for the Australian industry and filmmakers, especially when it went to great lengths to support Hollywood during the pandemic years?
