New Greens' leader Larissa Waters is promising a "firm but constructive" approach from the party in this term of parliament and has put climate and the environment at the top of her list of priorities.

The Queensland senator has also refuted comments from Special Envoy to Combat Anti-Semitism, Jilllian Segal, that some members of the Greens party displayed "extremist" and "hurtful" behaviour during the election campaign. 

Also, as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese heads to the Vatican to attend the Pope's inauguration mass following his trip to Indonesia, speculation is swirling around when he'll come face-to-face with US President, Donald Trump.
