Then, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has likened Israel's targeting of Hamas leaders in Qatar to America's pursuit of al-Qaida after the 9/11 attacks.

Qatar has condemned the Israeli strikes targeting Hamas officials in Doha as a "criminal assault" and a "blatant violation of all international laws and norms".
