As expected, Labor has had another thumping win in a W-A state election, winning a third consecutive term in government.

Roger Cook's government is predicted to take more than 40 seats ... with the Liberals and Nationals to hold only 9 between them.

So can anything be gleaned from that result for Labor's prospects in the federal election?

Also, in 2019, Australian climate scientist, Dr Joelle Gergis gave a keynote presentation at the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic society's annual meeting warning that tropical cyclones would move as far down as Northern NSW.

It's a prediction that wasn't too far off at the weekend when Cyclone Alfred made landfall as a category one system over the Moreton bay islands, north of Brisbane.
