Informative talks and funny stories is what it’s all about this week on Breakfasters. Journalist Jane Gilmore is in the studio to talk about the future of feminism, in light of her participation in the Talking Progress-series. Geraldine, Sarah and Daniel reminisce about school uniforms and casual clothes day. Doctor Heather Holst talks about how governments can help struggling Australians with rising house costs. Emma Koster talks about the SMS chatbot “Hello Cass”, which provides support and information for people effected by family and sexual violence. The second season of award-winning comedy series “The Letdown” is premiering on ABC, and co-creator Sarah Scheller is on Breakfasters to talk about choices and decisions.

This week on Breakfasters, Daniel Burt officially joins Sarah Smith and Geraldine Hickey to create a new power trio. To get to know the new addition, Geraldine quizzes Daniel to find out which Powerpuff Girl he is. We also learn that Daniel once applied for a work experience with RRR's Breakfasters. Dr Jen joins the trio for this weeks Weird Science, which focuses on tongue twisters. Ricky Lee Erickson shares interesting facts about squids on Feature Creatures. Smokestack Comedy Gala is the main event at the Progress Festival, and MC Tom Ballard stops by the studio to share his thoughts on progress. To round off the week, the new trio chat about everyones favourite topic: pets.

It is Jeff's last time on Breakfasters, and this week has been filled with quality interviews, great stories and heart-warming chats. Sarah shares a story from her surf adventure and the characters she encountered. Joel Bray came to the studio to talk about his show Daddy, a solo dance cabaret that combines humour and tenderness. Producer Elizabeth McCarthy does a special appearance in this week's Book Review, giving her frank opinion on French novel Adele by Leila Slimani. Cloudstreet is playing at the Malthouse Theatre, and Assistant director Katt Osborne stops by to talk about the award-winning stage show. Crushes and stepping up when youre not capable are two topics that Jeff, Sarah and Geraldine chats about. Dr. Darren ODonovan phones the studio to discuss the serious issues concerning robo-debt. We finish up with an extravaganza from the live show at Northcote Social Club, packed with fun guests. Sarah and Jeff share their thoughts on the age-old question: Can you steal stuff from hotels? Geraldine has been sick and that brings back memories of that time her mum did not believe her. She also shares a tale about a bad interaction with a fan, which somehow ended up in a good experience.

Byte Into It co-host joins the Breakfasters for "Tech Talk", where she unpacks the technology behind batteries. Editor of "The Monthly" magazineNick Feik drops by ahead of the 10th anniversary of The Monthly. Scott Edgar from 3RRR's "Superfluity" talked about the current developments in gaming on "Genius Squad".Max Schumann talked about the non-profit arts organization "Printed Matter" as part of the The Melbourne Art Book Fair.

The Breakfasters are back from Easter, and kicks off with a short and sweet week. Rebecca Traister, the author of book Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Womens Anger is in the studio to talk about her experience from being a feminist journalist in the United States. Food, alien or both? In food interlude we get a little more familiar with mushrooms as Michael Harden talks about the aromatic ingredient. The comedy festival is still a hot topic, and Geraldine talks about Celeb 5, possibly the biggest superstar of the festival this year. The War on the F*#king Election is touring Australia, and writers and comedians Charles Firth and James Schloeffeltalks to the Breakfasters about the challenges (or lack of) writing political comedy when the politicians are comedic gold just by being themselves.
