In this episode, we discuss the creation behind Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors. You know, the horror comedy rock musical about a florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh.
The swanky 10-story Midtown apartment house at 51 St. didn’t exactly scream ‘murder’ when you strolled by. In fact, it was home to a glamorous celebrity couple of the stage and screen living the high life during the Roaring Twenties. However, on a warm June 9th in 1929 when shrieks were heard coming from the building, the NYPD didn’t expect to find a Broadway star laying dead in her bed.
This is the tragic murder of Margaret Lawrence.

Grab some jam and bread, we’re spilling all the reality show tea as we go back to the early 2000s. At the very height of reality-style television shows such as American Idol and The Simple Life, it was only a matter of time before the theatre world took a stab at auditioning unknown aspiring performers in front of millions across the world from the comfort of their living rooms.
