Today on Perry and Shawna Mornings Perry admits that the default mode of his heart is to think that God deals in moral currency. Sometimes he feels like he has enough moral currency to gain God’s favor. Other times, not so much. But God doesn’t deal in moral currency. It’s a conversation on how the gospel humbles us or exalts us depending on what’s in our heart with an assist from Matt Chandler, teaching pastor at the Village Church in Dallas. Then, sometimes life can leave us feeling worn thin. If we just keep going we can reach the end of ourselves. If you’re at that place God has words of hope for you. And with this Shawna shares a real life moment when she hit the wall. And finally, grace isn’t beautiful unless we know how much we need it! So we have a conversation about a couple of passages that show us our deep need for the Savior: Romans 7:18-19: “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature!” and Jeremiah. 17:9: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
