Sara Jukes shared a message on ‘Palm Sunday’ (Luke 19:28-44) about allowing Jesus to untie and release us from such things as, guilt, anxiety, sadness and unforgiveness.

When Jesus unties us, He can then partner with us so that we can accomplish things and grow deeper in our relationship with Him.

Jesus wants us to carry His love into every aspect of our lives and share His good news wherever we go. When we become untied from unhealthy things and go public with His love, God can then start to use us for the purposes that He has called us to.

Jesus was offered and sent as a sacrifice so that God could connect with every one of us and build a relationship with us, but He requires a response from us.

Andy Elmes shared a message on 'Kairos' which means ‘for such a time of this’ and is described as a ‘God moment’ (Genesis 28 16-27). God can often create God moments when we are not even spiritually aware. Currently, we are living in a Kairos moment and God is changing people’s experiences of God. When we experience a spiritual awakening, God becomes so real to us, that He is no longer just a concept or theology, but becomes something that is deeper, more personal and real. This experience is described as a divine encounter and turns people’s lives around from a wasteland into something awesome and meaningful.

The book of Genesis shares about Jacob encountering God when he awoke, from his sleep and sees God, even though God had always been there. If God does not become real, to us, we can be in danger of living a life of hypocrisy. We are the temple for the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and God loves us so much that He designed our moment before we were even born.

Steff Hodgson led us through “Living with and for the next generation”. Whether you are a mother or not, if a child is in your life, you have a role to be part of the process of raising them. She uses verses within Deuteronomy 6:1-25 to explore this. We have to show up and be present in the lives of the children around us.

As human beings, we have been created to influence and to have a purpose. God has a redemptive plan for humanity and has equipped every one of us to be far reaching in sharing the good news. Jesus was intentional in speaking with the outcasts and crossed cultural lines. He grew in favour with God and knew the importance of growing through prayer. The way we increase our favour with God is by loving Him back and being intentional and passionate about seeking Him. Jesus learned to have relationships with people, even the outcasts like the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4. Jesus has called us all to be a constant light to the world and desires that we share our testimony with others.

Beccy Pitts shares on 'One Anothering: A Renewed Perspective.' She uses Colossians 3 to remind us that as we are being renewed and so are other people. The process of renewal isn’t an easy one but one where others extending grace can make it easier and we can make it easier for others if we show grace towards them. We are all work in progress; therefore, Beccy emphasised that we should clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience and over all of these virtues, put on love.

For our all-in service (previously family service) Deb Newbould asks the question ‘is what the Bible says true?’ Which leads us to consider can we really be made new?

Deb focuses on 2 Corinthians 5:17- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Deb looks at if what the bible says is true and if God would lie to us, coming to the conclusion that everything we need to know, we can find in the bible.

In this week of our ‘Renewal’ series, Ben Hodgson brings a message titled, ‘Rooted and Resilient.’ Looking at the book of Jeremiah, Ben shows us how God is in control, God is in you, and we are in God’s plan. Listen to some of Ben’s experiences and receive some practical tips on how to be rooted in God and resilient in hard times.

Paul Jukes shared a message on ‘living Jesus centred’. We must seek Jesus when we approach the scriptures and have faith and be all in with God (1 Samuel 9: 1:5). Our posture should be both humility and obedience which leads to empowerment. If we want the life that God desires for us, then we must learn to listen to God's instruction, grow in wisdom and be filled with the spirit before we act. God empowers ordinary people who are willing to submit and wait on Him. He desires to renew and restore the church, but our posture and our heart must be right. The only position we need to know is who we are in Him, not a position of power. God is not worried about us messing up, so we need not worry either.

Sara Jukes speaks on discipleship. She unpacks the idea that “Sometimes we follow people because we think they are going to show us the right way to go.” However, Ephesians 4:15 is used to convey that as Christians we must follow Christ. Titus 3:3-5 then shows us the difference of the journey of our lives prior to Christ. For there to be renewal we must look at every aspect of our lives and be wary of what we inhale and exhale.
