In this episode we sit down with our previous guest, Sheila Stephens,PA-C to discuss breathwork and meditation. In her last appearance, she shared how vital meditation and breathwork were in helping her work through her anxiety leading up to and during her ketamine therapy. In this episode, she tells us how she went from skeptic of meditation and breathwork, to becoming a certified instructor, to implementing them in the ketamine treatment space, and ultimately to starting her own wellness and meditation coaching business. We discuss common misconceptions of these practices, how they actually work, and how starting a meditation practice while undergoing ketamine treatment might just be about the perfect time to start one. She talks about the power of starting small with meditation, the different types of breathwork, and how they regulate your nervous system giving you the ability to self regulate your emotions at any time.
