These students were selected by their program instructors for showing outstanding participation, effort, and dedication in their classes.

(Brian Montgomery) Dakota Presley, Executive Director of the Main Street Chamber of Leake County, joined Brian “B-MO” Montgomery on B-MO in the Morning to preview one of the region’s most anticipated spring events—Pickin’ 35—and to share a heartfelt message of gratitude and community support.

During the interview, Presley discussed this weekend’s Pickin’ 35, a multi-county event that stretches along Highway 35 and brings together vendors, yard sales, food, and local businesses for a weekend of shopping and community connection. The event continues to grow in popularity, drawing visitors from across Mississippi and beyond in search of antiques, handmade goods, and unique roadside finds. She emphasized the economic and community impact Pickin’ 35 has on Leake County and surrounding areas, noting that events like this help shine a spotlight on small towns and local entrepreneurs.

Presley also took time on-air to thank Boswell Media for its continued support and promotion of local events, saying their partnership plays a key role in helping initiatives like Pickin’ 35 succeed and grow each year. The Kosciusko Whippets baseball team hosted the Knights of West Lauderdale Thursday evening.  The Knights lost to Kosciusko 10-9 two nights ago.

The Whippets struck first with one run in the bottom of the first inning.  The Knights added a run in the second.  After a fairly even exchange, Kosciusko came out on top with a final score of 3-1.  The home team improved to 15-8.

Jackson Schuler was named the Autumn Ridge Player of the Game.  Now, that’s something to smile about!

The playground in Northside Park in Philadelphia has become unsafe for children, so the city has collaborated with Fortenberry Project Solutions to do repairs.

The Community Repair Day will be on Saturday, May 23rd, with construction going between 9:00 and 3:00. Volunteers are requested, with no prior experience required. Anyone who steps forward can expect to repair damaged equipment, secure loose structures, remove safety hazards, and clean the area.

Tools, materials, meals, and work crews will be provided.
