After more than three decades of working in the corporate world, I decided it was time to shift my focus to helping people find healthy ways to achieve their goals. These values are not limited to my  professional endeavors, they are deeply ingrained in my personal life as well. I have a diverse, richly blended family with five children and nine grandchildren. After a series of significant personal losses, I utilized holistic tools and skills to turn post-traumatic stress disorder into post-traumatic growth. Having experienced that growing through trauma and loss is possible, I began my personal mission to create more grief literacy in our culture and demystify taboo subjects like suicide.

As a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, grief educator, wellness coach, yoga therapist, and author, I combine my expertise in positive psychology, neuroscience, meditation, and mindfulness to guide organizations and individuals from surviving to thriving.

Workshops, employee wellness program development, and professional development training sessions allow me to teach and coach in private, corporate, and small group settings, sharing my skills and experiences to help others transform their lives and workplaces.

My training is broadly psychodynamic. Over four decades of practice, this has come to mean: I'm humbled by the power of childhood experience to shape us; respectful of complexity in our attitudes, feelings and thoughts; grateful to ally with impulses - conscious and unconscious - toward healing; impressed by a deeper purpose behind what may seem irrational; curious about what we know, what we think we know, and what is yet to be revealed;  aware that  contradictions and hidden strengths fuel unique paths to healing, and finally, that a trusting relationship between therapist and client is the ground of change.  
                         
I also seek more broadly to enrich the environment for transformation. I collaborate with clients to refer, as needed, to other professionals and resources that support their growth. Expanding community, thoughtfully, can contribute corrective emotional experiences, can reinforce self-assertion & boundary-setting, and give an experience of mastery and pleasure. Targeted freewriting is another tool we may use to accelerate self-awareness - a powerful pathway to see, claim and champion your own perspective.
