In this episode, Grant McHerron meets with Katherine Ziesing, Managing Editor of ADM, and Brent Clark, the CEO of the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN). They discuss AIDN's history of state-level branches and its recently established AIDN National which provides a single voice for lobbying government on behalf of Defence SMEs.

Brent explains the benefit of AIDN, the services it provides and the assistance available for members, including education for SMEs regarding the obligations they have when dealing with Defence and Primes, guidance to Primes regarding working with SMEs and advocacy with government and Primes.

Given AIDN's engagement with the Defence Industry, the discussion also covers Australian Industry Capability (AIC) and the investment in local industry that should occur within Defence's current mega-projects. This includes ensuring that the Australian taxpayer obtains a return on the sizeable investment of funds along with allowing Australian industry to compete with foreign providers on a level playing ground.
