As you've seen, Season 3 is dedicated to my father, Mike Jacox, who passed away late in 2021. I Love and miss you, Dad.
Our next guest, Brett Cavanagh, comes to us through the power of relationships. He is a good friend of Rodrigo Alcaine, our guest, last week. Brett is the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for TempWorks, a software company that is a leader in serving the staffing industry. As the CRO, Brett draws from his strategic leadership and market analysis background to build partnerships across the nation and deliver a superior client experience.
Today, we talk to Brett, the dad who has a beautiful wife and two exceptional children. Brett was raised in Chicago, and in his words, he had the perfect childhood surrounded by five boys and two girls. His father was a successful salesman at Xerox, servicing the United Airlines account for 32 years! Their family's faith and relationships were of the utmost importance. One key piece of advice Brett took from his parents is that work is work, and it must not define you. Brett's family was about authenticity, vulnerability, and being present with intention. These are lessons he will continue to foster and build in his family!
One of the challenges that will resonate with many fathers at home is the struggle of putting his phone down when it's family time! He is committing to making this a habit so that he can be as present with his family. Additionally, Brett shared a very personal and challenging story as he and his wife dealt with a miscarriage.
Lastly, Brett's advice for other fathers looking to be their home's ultimate leader is to lean in on Vulnerability, Curiosity, and intentionality.
