In this episode we talk about.. wait for it......NOTHING. Well at least nothing of particular importance. We focus primarily on discussions around brewing and beer. We have a new brew setup that we are piecing together and hope to have ready for the 4th of July. We discuss various brew methods and home brew components. We save time to also discuss AU 2020 as the brains of our operation has submitted some topics for sessions. As always we drink great beer and go on long tangents. David drank the most expensive mix 6 pack known to man...spoiler alert, he did not enjoy all of it.

In this episode of Brewing with BIM we discuss the importance of communication. We focus primarily on the field to office and vice versa. Being an expert at modeling doesn't mean you are an expert at construct-ability and installation. The same is true for inverse. Good communication is a great way to learn. Using platforms like BIM 360, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, etc allow the office to share updated drawings while providing tools for communication and review for the field teams to correct and educate. As always we review alcohol we are drinking and get lost on many tangents.

In this episode we chat with David Kortekaas of BIM Synergistics. David is a master at coordination working on behalf of owners and contractors. He approaches coordination with an approach that is both lean and collaborative. By using an integrative coordination process he ensures all stakeholders have up to date models and supporting information. In addition his approach limits the need for RFIs (Make sure you check out his miniseries on the death of RFIs).

HITT has amazing initiatives to explore new technology, materials, and processes. At HITT’s CO|LAB they are always exploring new technology and pushing the boundaries to refine processes and materials for sustainable and efficient construction.
