Brewluminati: Conspiracies and Beer episodes

  • John Titor and Back to the Future

John Titor came from the year 2036 to save us from Y2K. He had some very specific goals. First, get an incredibly rare IBM computer that not many people even knew existed. Second, send a fax to Art Bell, because he totally gets the whole time travel schtick. Third, meet up with his younger self in Tampa. And, finally, spend months answering questions on an internet forum for nerds. While we learned a lot from this man from the future, the real lesson was that time travel is really just the friends we make along the way.

    But first, the beer!

Jake is sampling Deep River's Chocolate Cherry Cordial while John has doubled down with the Double Mind Haze from Firestone Walker.

If you want to skip the beer, jump to 20:00 and learn all about how time travel is better done from a 1967 Corvette and not a DeLorean.

    But first, the beer!

John and Jake enjoy a grand spread of beers on this episode. They start with two different beers from Charlotte's Triple C Brewery, the Baby Maker and the Rainbow Sherbet Fruited Sour, then round things off with a very timely Enjoy by 420 from Stone Brewing. Tune in for the reviews.

  • #22: Living in a Simulation

Do we live in a simulation? Is it like the matrix? Are we all just machine puppets? Is there any truth to it? Take a deep dive into the theories around why we're probably actually all stuck in a machine.

    But first, the beer!

Jake is chasing the elusive Batsquatch by Rogue Brewing in Portland - 6.7% Citrus Hazy IPA and he forgot to tell you what he thinks about it. He thinks it's weird. But, he digs it.

John is working it with the Do The Work Modern IPA by Trophy which comes in at a respectable 6.7% ABV, but still needs some work.

There's tales that go all the way back to the deep woods of Arkansas, and they get wilder and wilder the further back in time you go. But first, the beer!

John heads all the way to Boston to sample a Clown Shoes Tropical Blender IPA.

Jake has gone over to Chautauqua County, NY to sample Southern Tier's Blackwater Series Nitro Coconut Truffle Imperial Milk Stout which is as good as its name is long.

  • #20: Tyler, the Qanon Supercomputer

What many people don’t know is that Qanon is not just one person who is some high ranking Dept of Energy leaker holding a Q-Clearance. Qanon is actually a team, according to Q posts, of no more than 10 people. Many think that Michael Flynn is part of that, and possibly Steve Bannon, and higher ups at the DoD. And, of course, Q+ is Donald J. Trump and he himself signed many Q drops -- that’s how the theory goes. But, who is the actual brains behind Team Q? Get ready, because this is going to blow your mind.

    But first, the beer!

John and Jake dive deep into the Trader Joe’s Columbia Supremo Bourbon Barrel Stout which has as many words as numbers in its ABV.

If you want to skip the beer, jump to 29:00 and learn all about traveling how an algorithm has conquered your life.

  • #19: The Nazi Bell

The Nazi Bell is one of the most fascinating oddities in the Nazi era. Was it a time machine? Was it zero point energy? Was it the ultimate weapon? Or was it a scam? Let's find out!

John and Jake both fall in love with the completely crushable Mind Haze IPA by Firestone Walker - don't sleep on this Cali beer.

  • #17: GameStop is a Scam

GameStop is a wild ride. There's so much going on, and it's a very complex issue. John and Jake dive into what a Short Squeeze is and explain how hedge funs use them to screw people over. They also illustrate how GameStop is the gateway drug fueling full on stock market addictions that will only result in the rich getting richer and the poor loosing their money, again.

Meanwhile, Jake has gone to the other side of Charlotte with Devine Barrel Brewing's It's a Double Rainbow weirdness!

  • #16: Qanon and Mental Health

While Q followers maintain an image of constant success and winning in their public visage, the reality is a little different when you sneak into the backroom forums where they open up and speak frankly. Hold on tight because it's a sad, sad thing.

    But first, the beer!

John has gone back to Asheville to try Highland Brewing's very popular Rising Haze IPA.

Meanwhile, Jake is dipping into a quite tasty Darwin's Forehead from Fonta Flora in Nebo, NC.

If you want to skip the beer, jump to 16:20 and get an inside look at just how all those Q followers on your facebook feed are really feeling.

  • #15: Qanon: The History

Q started posting in October of 2017, but the ideas held in place by the Qanon crowd are much older, more than a thousand years older. From the decries of blood libel to the Salem Witch Trials people vilified and persecuted others for believing different things than they did or acting differently. The latest round of Pizza and PedoGate are no different. Buckle up, slide on your tinfoil hat, and get ready for a history lesson.

    But first, the beer!

John has a few words for Highland Brewery in Asheville, especially about their Daycation IPA and their whole aesthetic.

Meanwhile, Jake is thoroughly enjoying his Threes Brewing Logical Conclusion, which came to him from Brooklyn via Pharmacy Bottle Shop in Cary, NC.

If you want to skip the beer, jump to 20:35 and get yourself Q'd.
