When Exodus tells us that God hardened Pharaoh's heart, what does that mean? And what does it tell us about our hearts and the choices and decisions that we must make in our own lives? Be challenged to make the one choice the truly defines you and your heart.

You know the changes you need to make in life. You know the things that God wants you to do or not to do. So why don't we change? Why do we run away from God's calling? In Exodus 3 and 4, Moses' response to God's calling reminds us of all the excuses we make to justify our reasons to not do what God wants us to do. We find out that our willingness to move forward and respond to God is what matters the most, so the question we must ask ourselves is are you willing to make the changes you know that you need to make?

How do you recognize the presence fo God in your life? How do we see Him and know Him? What do you look for to find Him? In Exodus 3, we read of when Moses met God, what he came to learn of who God is, and how he went from not recognizing God to coming to know Him and hear His purpose for his life. Allow Moses' journey to cause you to recognize how you see God in your life and how you can find Him in even more places.

What would you feel if everyone knew your lowest moment, your worst actions, your greatest sin? We are often defined by these moments, whether the darkness in our lives is seen or is yet to be exposed. Moses endured this happening in his life and we learn vital lessons in the mistakes he made and then how he learned and grew from them. And in the end, we find how God's grace should be what defines us instead of these sins and low moments.

When God's people were stuck between a rock and a ahrd place, God's response to them was to "get moving"! This familar story provdes for us a challenge for the New Year. Be challenged to make the changes you know you need to make and to seek God's guidance in them. Listen for the challenges for us as a church in 2019.

God chose an unlilkely group of people not only to announce the birth of His son to but to reveal His glory in a new way. In choosing these shepherds, the very point of the Christmas story is shown to us in a way that allows us to have God's glory revelead to us as well.

Do not be afraid! Those words are repeated in the Christmas story more than any others. In the midst of the holday season where we might feel overwhelmed or in a season of life where we might be confused, fear takes on all kinds of forms in our hearts and lives. And just like God did to those in the story of His son's birth, He says to us in these seasons to not be afraid. Listen to hear of what fear looks like, what causes fear in our lives, and how you should respond to the fear you will inevitably experience.

The story of Christmas is often reduced to a baby in a manager, some shepherds in a field, and singing angels. It is the story of God, the story of His love, the story of our redemption. So we look for the story behind the story of the manger, the story of what God has done for us in the birth of His son. And the first part of that story is that God has intervened on our behalf. When we needed Him, He showed up, He acted on our behalf, He intervened. May this challenge become an invitation for us to ask God to intervene in our lives today.

We all experience pain, suffering, hardships, loneliness, and the brokenness of this world. But how should we approach God with the emotion and anger we might feel at these pains and tragedies and suffering? The prayer of lament allows us to approach God with all of our emotions in the midst of life's brokenness and allow our faith and trust in doing so to turn us back to praise. Listen to Habakkuk's lament, God's answers to His cries, and how we can learn to end our laments the same way he does.

Thanksgiving is not a holiday for Christians, but a heart attitude that is to be our reaction to all situations and circumstances.
