  • 30. Jeremy Schaeffer (Earth Groans)
This is my chat with Jeremy Schaeffer, vocalist of Earth Groans.
With the band being recently signed to Solid State Records, and not having a whole lot of information about them out, we find out how Earth Groans started, and get a peek into the writing process of the band.
We get into how Jeremy got into music, especially metal living out in South Dakota. What kind of a scene there is in South Dakota, and how the band were able to hit the road and build their brand and get signed.
We also find out how the band got their name, and how Jeremy's faith plays into the bands overall message and the christian metal scene as a whole, past and present, and label mates they'd like to tour with.
Intro Music: "Ambition" and "Chin Ups" by Chae Hawk
Outro Music: "Price Tag" by Earth Groans

Zach Dear is my guest this week. Zach was the guitarist of Expire and is currently fronting Stone, his "newer" band. We talk a bit about the end of Expire, the house show tour they embarked on, and the bands final run of shows before calling it a day, as well as a brief glimpse into why the band decided to call it a day.
We get into his "newer" band, Stone, and what lead him to start touring with that band LITERALLY the day after Expire played their last show. What we can expect from that band from here on out.

  • 28. Jordan King (Digital Content Creator)
My guest this week is Jordan King aka meatloaf on the radio and a slew of other names.
Jordan has become quite popular for being one of the few who was at the forefront of creating unique digital content, wether it be his time on the radio, or creating youtube videos and more recently delving into the meme centric world we seemed to be living in.
I talk with Jordan to get to know more about who he is behind the various online personas and find out what its like to sometimes be the one of the most hated people on the internet at times.
Take a little bit and get to see a bit more behind the curtain of someone who spends his days thinking of ways to get you to respond in some way to what he's doing.
Intro Track: "Ambition" and Chin Ups" by Chae Hawk
Outro Track: "Show me your genitals" by John Lajoie.

  • 27. Thom Hazaert (EMP Label Group/Ellefson Coffee/Puck Hcky)
Thom Hazaert is my guest this week. I think it would be easier to say what we didn't chat about than what we did, but we run the gamut of topics including how Thom got involved in the music industry at a younger age. How he was one of the first to use street teams in the 90's/2000's to help break bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park and so many others. We talk about the continued success of Ellefson Coffee, and what's in store for the EMP Label Group for the rest of this year and SO MUCH MORE.
Also premiering a new Mark Slaughter track from Mark's upcoming album, HalfWay There, which will be out on May 26th via the EMP Label Group. The song is called "Disposable" and features some special guest vocalists that you'll hear about towards the end of this episode.

My chat with Nate and Ivy Barcalow where we discuss how the couple met almost 20 years ago, some of Nate's first bands as well as a more rounded look into what the early success of Finch looked like from the perspective of significant other, and how being away from your loved one effects both parties while being out on tour.
We talk a bit about my favorite Finch album, Say Hello To Sunshine, and go behind the scenes of the band during that time frame, and discuss how it was widely considered to be a commercial flop and how Ivy and Nate dealt with a some of the issues stemming from the band breaking up.

  • 25. Chad Nicefield (Wilson)
This was a chat I had with Chad Nicefield, singer of Wilson. This interview was done for a feature I was writing on the band, but have been sitting on this audio and there's a lot of things we talked about that didn't end up in the feature so figured I'd release it as a podcast.
We discuss the beginning of the band, as well discussing how the band got the opportunity to record with Steve Evetts, and the decision to change a bit of the sound on their most recent album "Right to Rise" as well as discussing what it was like to play in the bataclan shortly after the Paris attacks and the shootings that took place inside the venue during an eagles of death metal show.

  • 24. Schuylar Croom(He is Legend)
My chat with Schuylar Croom, vocalist of He Is Legend, where we discuss the bands upcoming album, Few, and why they chose to go the crowdfunding route. What went into the perks the band offered, and the added pressures of making a record your fans paid for.
We also get into the lyrical themes of the record, and where some of the inspirations for some of the songs came from, as well as the writing process for this album now that the bands "newer" members have had time to gel with each other after dropping "Heavy Fruit" a few years back and touring on it.
We discuss the plans for HIL once the album is dropped and some bands they'd like to hit the road with and much more.

We discuss John's long running feud with The Swellers Anto Boros and how it came to a head during Warped Roadies, and if we will ever see the rubber match to determine a winner once and for all.....as well as how JJR legitimately almost drowned during that match, and MUCH MUCH MORE.
