“Hey, no one will know or notice.”

“Why should I care when no one else does?”

“Good is good enough.”

While it may be tempting, we cheat ourselves when we do less than our best.

Be your best today. 

Being your best is its own reward!

Is there a gap between what you say matters and what you do?

None of us is perfect but most successful leaders align their stated beliefs and daily activities.

For leaders, credibility is gained or lost through your daily example. 

Effectiveness increases when your actions align with your priorities.

In eastern spiritual tradition there is a story about a man riding a fast horse.

When an observer asks him where he is going and why he is riding so fast, the rider pauses to reflect, then replies, "I don't know … Ask the horse."

Where is your horse taking you today? …

Here's Note #12 on Career.

In African folk traditions there is a story about a lion cub separated at birth from his mother.  

The cub’s eyes were still shut when he was discovered by a flock of sheep that welcomed and raised him with their lambs.

Like the lambs, the cub learned to fear dogs, travel in a flock, and follow a shepherd.

Because he was constantly surrounded by sheep, the growing lion did not notice how fast he could run or high he could jump.

One day another lion crept up on the flock and let out a tremendous roar.  

The flock scattered and the young lion, who was as scared as the sheep, ran away.

After pausing for a moment to catch his breath, the young lion saw his reflection in a pond and noticed he looked like the lion that had scared him.

At first, the young lion was surprised by his reflection. But he quickly became playful when he discovered he could growl and roar like a lion!

Now awakened to his true self, the lion returned to the pride and lived among lions as a king of the forest.

Look at yourself in a mirror and roar!

Hang out with people who encourage and challenge you to be the best you can be.
