In 2021 congressional testimony, Ken Griffin stated: "Today, virtually all trades executed by institutional investors are in the form of program trades such as VWAP and other algorithmic trades...We use VWAP orders to execute on behalf of our hedge fund and have generated exceptional returns for pension plans and for endowments". In 2022, Citadel booked record-breaking profits of $16 billion and Ken Griffin himself made over $4 billion (the largest in hedge fund history). So when somebody like Ken Griffin of Citadel mentions VWAP - it's worth listening to. Brian Shannon is also someone who I've "unknowingly" respected & looked up to for quite a long time. It was incredible to finally meet him and be able to pick his brain.
