Our Manchester correspondents were on the case as Albion tried to set a new PL record for consecutive wins at OT by a visiting club. Well, the run had to end sometime!

On the plus side Wele broke the top flight scoring record for us as he hit the net against his childhood club and Babis opened his account with us.

The hex over The Geordies at Falmer continued (they still haven’t beaten us here in the PL, as a second Danny double of the season fired Albion to 3 much needed points.

Russ was joined by a cluster of the usuals pre and post match to marvel at a much improved display (and atmosphere).

Also featured was surely THE only Geordie Seagull, Brian. Howay The Albion!!!

What a nice day out. An away win that isn’t a League Cup goalfest at last with Albion storming through to claim a thoroughly deserved third straight victory against ‘World champions’ Brighton Rejects FC at Stamford Bridge.

Some of the usual suspects were in attendance and we also heard from Caroline, Nigel Summers, Chelsea fan Phil and James from Dogma

Another League Cup game, another 0-6 win! Bloody hell!!!

Well that won’t be happening next time as Albion ended up with a trip to The Emirates to contend with in the draw on Wednesday. However it was a great trip and well worth it, for what turned out to be The Diego Gomez Show, with our Paraguayan midfield maestro netting a, what would you call it?, double brace aka 4 goal haul, with some spectacular strikes too.

In the Pod Squad this time were Russ, David T, Chris, Sam, Ahmed, Alison, Dom, Alastair and Nick…the latter of whom was on a two match attending streak - an unbeaten one at that! - easy there, lad!!!

We were also delighted to chat with Tykes fans Sam and his father Simon, who were great company.

It was great to be back in Barnsley. Good town but it’s also changed somewhat since our last visit, good beers, good club and good fans. Best of luck for the season lads!

Then to finish there was a flying visit guest appearance by U.S based Seagull Johnny Gresty recorded down the pub pre match from Wednesday plus Alan at the game.

Well it was mainly a lot of good chat on the train up and back on yet another good day out spoilt by 90+ minutes of football, but us Seagulls enjoyed the trip, the new stadium and the beers of course.

Pre match chat leaned towards us looking a bit light up front at the moment and with a rare disasterclass from Wel, the point was emphasised as loudly as Everton’s PA system!
