    Tonight's episode our host Clarence Boone and Roberta Radovich interview with two inspiring Performance Directors from the African American Arts Institute. First, James Strong, a recent hire as director of the IU Soul Revue.  Strong is a critically acclaimed bassist, musical producer and director, and has played for multiple artists such as Toni Braxton, En Vogue, Tupac, MC Smooth, New Edition and LL Cool J. Second, Dr. Raymond Wise, the director of the African American Chorale Ensemble.  Dr.Raymond Wise discusses his ongoing vision for the African American Chorale Ensemble. Dr.Wise has served as a church musician for more than 30 years, in his time as a musician he has recorded 22 albums, performed with various opera singers, orchestras, dance companies, and has and will continue to tour throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia, as a singer, dancer, pianist, composer, choral director, lecturer, and teacher.

    Each year Indiana University recognizes outstanding alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Service Award (DASA), the highest accolade reserved solely for alumni. The awardees are leaders in their chosen fields. They also make significant contributions benefiting their community, state, nation, or university. Since the award's inception in 1953, more than 300 Indiana University alumni have been so honored. In tonight's episode of Bring It On, hosts Leila Randle and William Hosea speak with one of this year's recipients, Dr. Roselyn Cole a 1969 graduate of Indiana University.

    Tonight's episode features an interview between hosts Roberta Radovich and Cornelius Wright with Mike Davis Jr, and excerpts from a past interview with Mike Davis Sr.  Mike Davis Jr is an assistant coach at Texas Southern University. He previously played at the University of Alabama, Indiana University, Bloomington North High School and Bridgton (Maine) Academy.  Mike Davis Jr is the son of Mike Davis Sr. who is currently the head basketball coach at Texas Southern University. He had previously been head men's head coach of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers and at Indiana University Bloomington.

    On this episode Jamie Cornwell, Cancer Educator and Nurse Navigator with the Olcott Center at IU Health Bloomington discusses prevention and strategies for early detection of colorectal cancer. Jamie provides a host of resources to help make screening and early detection convenience and accessible.

    Hosts Clarence Boone and Cornelius Wright are also joined by Deborah Myerson of the Community Committee on Educational Equity, an informal coalition of parents, educators and residents of Monroe County seeking to maintain a robust public school system that provides a high-quality education with breadth and depth of opportunity to all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin or household income. The Committee is currently working to persuade the MCCSC School Board to appoint a working group of school board members to examine current boundaries for school board seats, which have not been updated since 1994.   • Bring It On! – September 18, 2017
    It's National Hispanic Heritage Month and Bring It On! hosts Roberta Radovich and Leila Randle speak with Lillian Casillas, director of Indiana University's La Casa Latino Cultural Center, and Jane Walter from El Centro to discuss the many local events celebrating Hispanic heritage. The keynote speaker for IU-Bloomington's National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration will be award-winning poet, writer, performer and education, Denise Frohman, whose work explores the intersections of race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality.

    We're also joined by Dr. Gladys Devane discussing the upcoming book launch of "Ordinary Extraordinary American Women: The Elders". There will be a celebration of the book's launch on October 8, 2017 from 1:00-3:30pm at the Unitarian Universalists Church of Bloomington.
