The prophet Haggai gives to Zerubbabel, Joshua, and the remnant of Israel a challenge to consider their ways—especially their neglect of that which pleases and glorifies the Lord—the reconstruction of His temple.

A second reason given by the apostle Paul for preaching the gospel is because of the power of the gospel. God's message of the gospel is the only power of God that saves from death everyone who hears and believes.

Because He Lives.... Here are eight precious realities that come to life for believers because Jesus rose from the dead.

Using a construction illustration, the Bible tells us that God takes the stone rejected by the builders and makes it the chief cornerstone. The stone is Jesus, the builders are the Jewish leaders, and crucifixion is their rejection. But God raises Jesus from the dead, making Him the chief cornerstone!

In addition to the "dark side" of the Day of the Lord as a day of judgment, Zephaniah also tells of a "bright side." The Day of the Lord is a day of joyful restoration for the remnant who trust in the Lord.

The Day of the Lord is described as a day of wrath from the Lord upon all nations. Zephaniah gives at least six reasons for God's judgments.
