  • Episode 39 - Summer is Finally Over!

Welcome to episode 39 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related with a focus on movie and television adaptations of our favorite pop culture characters.

This week the Geeks once again sit down as a (near) complete unit as summer is over and our favorite shows are about to start!

We talk about this weeks Gotham and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season debuts and look ahead to new seasons of Supergirl, Flash, Arrow & Legends of Tomorrow on the CW.

We DEFINITELY talk some Star Wars: Rogue One and eagerly await (at least Jeff does) the return of Star Wars: Rebels!

Mitch has recently returned from a viewing of The Blair Witch sequel/re-boot and gives us his thoughts on it and the franchise as a whole.

Unfortunately we also have to say goodbye to one of our favorite guests and humans, Jordan Wieleba. We attached our last conversation with Jordan from the High Plains Comedy Festival episode to the end so please listen through and download her album NOW! May you Rest In Peace, Punk Rock Girl.

  • Episode 38 - High Plains Comedy Festival: Friday
Welcome to episode 38 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related with a focus on television and the big screen. If it's on Netflix, Amazon, CW, NBC, ABC, FOX, HBO, Playboy Network or any other of the broadcasts out there we'll find it. No job is too big, no fee is too big! Oh wait, we do this for free and because we love this stuff.

This week the Geeks took it to the streets of Denver to cover this year's High Plains Comedy Festival. We did two straight nights of interviews on S. Broadway and boy did we have a blast! No, seriously. One of us actually exploded, albeit it was their mind which is COMPLETELY legal in the state of Colorado.

We talk Stranger Things, The Shannara Chronicles, The Get Down, Fantasy AND preseason football, phone games, classic literature, murder podcasts & a whole lot more! We also ask each of our guests to weigh in on our ongoing "recline or not to recline" debate. The votes have been cast and we can't wait to show you the current numbers.

Friday Guests: Greg Baumhauer, Jake Browne, Chris Charpentier, Jim Hickox, Ian Karmel, Zac Maas, Adrian Mesa, Matt Monroe, William Montgomery, Miriam Moreno, Georgia Rae, David Rodriguez, Sam Tallent, Steve Vanderploeg, Jordan Wieleba & Mara Wiles.

Before we get to the interviews we did have time to talk a little Flash and Arrow news and went over the week that was in geek culture headlines. Nate gives his thoughts on Suicide Squad as he was next in line to see it. The fall is almost here and we can't wait for the return of Supergirl, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Legends of Tomorrow, Ash vs. The Evil Dead, Legion and so much more. We may need a second DVR.

    Enjoy part 1!

  • Episode 37 - Isaac McGaha Miller's Marvel Mash Up Machine

Welcome to episode 37 of Broadcast Geeks! On this podcast we discuss all things geek and nerd related with a focus on television and movie adaptations of our favorite childhood comic book super heroes.

This week the Geeks  sit down with former Sexpot Comedy producer Isaac McGaha Miller! Isaac took some time to chat with the Geeks on a variety of topics including his days with Sexpot Comedy, his new life as a coder and most importantly his new website Marvel Mash Up! If you consider yourself a "Make Mine Marvel" guy or gal then head on over to the link provided immediately to get started.

Isaac also makes his predictions for this past Sunday's WWE Summerslam at the end of the show so make sure you hit him up on social networking to call him out or praise his genius. Of course this wouldn't be an episode of Broadcast Geeks if we didn't get Isaac's thoughts on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, whether to recline or not to recline in the theater and the ongoing bathroom in the theater debate is addressed.

Lots of casting news on Arrow, Flash, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and more. Vin Diesel leaks some MAJOR Guardians of the Galaxy / Avengers news. Probably some Stranger Things talk as well.

Here is the link to Isaac's Marvel Mash Up: https://isaacmillercodes.github.io/MarvelMashUp/

This week the Geeks are fortunate enough to record a very special episode with comedian and actor Ron Funches! Ron and fellow comedian Gabe Dinger are in town performing at the downtown Denver Comedy Works and took some time to sit down with us to talk about a variety of geek related topics.

We talk comic books, Adventure Time, shoes, Pro Wrestling, bathroom etiquette, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and event lament on the loss of the short-lived television show Selfie. Ron talks about being the dad of a geek and what it's like to share those experiences with his son.
