Pastor Ryan leads us through I John 4:7-21.

The Apostle John confirms for us that Love comes from God, identified via 3 points: He loves us, we love Him, and we love others - all three are realities for the child of God.

Ryan compares this to the world's view of love, shares three warnings to heed, and extends a deeply felt invitation tho those who wish to receive this Love from God.

Pastor Symps gives us part 1 of a 2-part discourse on an extended passage from I John. He leads us through a discussion of 3:10-24 and 4:7-21 - John assures us that, being His children, we are assured of life, light, love and salvation, and to KNOW these by the Truth of His Word, not by the capriciousness of our hearts, which can deceive us. We live lives of obedience, of faith, of loving our brothers.

We continue our I John series studying chap. 3:1-10. What a declaration John makes: you are a child of the Father! Pastor Ryan discusses the instructions on growing up like our Father, what warnings there are to the Household, and a comparison of the Father's character (which we are to emulate) as expressed in the story of the Prodigal Son.

Rev. Kevin Duval guest preaches for us today. He leads us through a study of Judges ch. 6 and 7, where God chooses Gideon to be His "mighty warrior".

God chooses us, in spite of our perceived inabilities. But He knows us better than we know ourselves! If He says we are able, we ARE able! Are you ready to be His "mighty warrior"?

Jesus IS coming back!

Last week we learned through I John to abide in Christ - this week we learn to NOT abide in the world, but to overcome the battle...for our minds, and for our hearts. Pastor Ryan shares how we can win this battles through Christ, and that I John informs us that we need each other, we need to abide in Him, and we need to pray for Christ's return.

I John 2:12-28 is our Scripture for today.

We explore the famous passage of I John 1:5-2:11, to "confess our sins, and God is faithful to forgive our sins, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness". Pastor Ryan exhorts us to ponder "what does it mean to walk in the Light?", showing what this passage demands regarding honesty, obedience, and loving others. God is Light!

Pastor Ryan extols one of the great proclamations that can be found in John's first letter: "YOU can KNOW GOD!"

We begin our series today with I John 1: 1-4.

Pastor Ryan concludes our short series, designed to prepare our body for the task of "growing" our property in preparation of increased ministry. He uses Moses, Jonah, and the 72 Disciples as examples of ones transformed by the mission God sets before them. Exodus 3, Deuteronomy 32, Jonah 4, and Luke 10 are our Scripture passages for today.

We look to Exodus 35:4-35 as a standard for giving to the Kingdom work, as God gives explicit details for the construction of the Temple - a repeated phrase indicates this is invitation, not command: "everyone who is willing". Pastor Ryan explains such loving honor and how different it is from the manner of the golden calf's creation in Exodus 32. For the person whose heart is led to participate in this holy donation: what are our next steps?

BCC is at the cusp of honoring the stewardship of our property for the sake of ministering to all; Pastor Ryan introduces us to this great "Firstfruits" opportunity, expanding the principle of stewardship beyond its common reference to finance and tithe. How are we stewards of our talents, our time, our gifts, our mission..and our place in community? We look at Matthew 25:14-30 to begin our adventure in this calling.
