Ramone Owens joined Boston Conservatory in 2020 and is an assistant professor of theater specializing in musical theater and jazz dance.

Prior to the Conservatory, Owens served on the faculty of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Long Island University, and was a guest instructor at the American Music and Dramatic Academy’s High School Summer Conservatory. He has been an associate choreographer at North Carolina Theatre, Pace University, and the University of Michigan.

Ramone spent twelve years as a performer. Highlighted credits include Broadway and touring performances of Beetlejuice, the Musical and Motown: The Musical. He has also appeared in the off-Broadway production of Finian’s Rainbow at the Irish Repertory Theater; and regional productions of The Sting at the Paper Mill Playhouse and The Prince of Egypt at TheaterWorks Silicon Valley.

As a proud alumni of Boston Conservatory, Owens holds a B.F.A. in musical theater with an emphasis in dance. While in Boston, he attended and received a full scholarship to study at the Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Intensive, and performed with the Boston Dance Company.

HERE LIES LOVE on Broadway is a new musical with music and lyrics by the collaboration of David Byrne from the Talking Heads and English DJ Fatboy Slim that details the rise and fall of the Marcos administration in the Philippines and the People Power Revolution in 1986 that ended the 21-year long dictatorship.

HERE LIES LOVE made Broadway history as it is the first show to have an all-Filipino cast telling a Filipino story. This disco musical not only illustrates the fragility of democracy but alerts us as audience members how history can and will repeat itself. Moses Villarama, who plays the DJ, in a rallying cry reminds the audience that, while democracy is under threat, not just all over the world, but even in America, it is “only as strong as the people,” giving the audience a gentle nudge to let us know that we, as the people, have the power to keep democracy intact.

Aaron is an actor based in New York City and Los Angeles. He has been seen on Broadway in Mean Girls as a swing and Kevin G understudy, Off-Broadway in Trevor: The Musical as Jack, in the National Tour of Rent as Angel, and in the LA production of Invincible as Mercutio. Film and TV credits include Trevor: The Musical on Disney+, “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” and “The Equalizer.” Aaron is a graduate of Ithaca College where he received his BFA in Musical Theatre. As an actor, Aaron loves to give characters a voice so that their stories can be told. His mix of open-hearted and earnest storytelling with quirky eccentricities brings an endearing and relatable quality to his performances (think Conrad Ricamora meets Maulik Pancholy). He feels a responsibility as an artist to bring truth, joy, and life to every role so that audiences can relate and see the world from a different perspective.

Moses Villarama is an award-winning  Filipino American actor who has worked on stages and sets across the United States. He is making his Broadway debut as the DJ in Here Lies Love. Most recently he was in Cambodian Rock Band at Signature Theatre, Berkeley Rep, The Alley, La Jolla Playhouse, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where he was a company member for five years. His Off-Broadway credits include Chairs and a Long Table (Ma-Yi Theatre Company), Fast Company (Ensemble Studio Theatre), and Sonic Life of a Giant Tortoise (The Play Company). Roy Flores is a New York-based actor, singer, songwriter, and vlogger. He was born in the Philippines and spent his childhood on a small island. He spent his teenage years in San Diego, California, and is now keeping up with the busy crowds on the island of Manhattan.
