    New! Flashy! Shiney!
    — Opening last night on Broadway was Simon McBurney’s “The Encounter”
    — Beginning previews last night was Christian Borle and his guns in William Finn’s revival of Falsettos
    1. Michael Riedel reports that the long-talked about ‘Prince of Broadway’, a revue about Hal Prince and his work on Broadway, is coming to MTC in an general timeframe of next year. Inferred from the column is that the non-profit MTC run will be limited and that for-profit producer Jeffrey Seller is primed to take it to a commercial run if demand is there for tickets.
Reporting on a second show, Reidel says that a Warren Carlyle workshop at City Center last week centered on the topic of another Broadway legend: Jerome Robbins. This show which is in its infancy recreated scenes from Robbins famous shows, but is expected to be much different than the 1989 Tony Winning show, “Jerome Robbins’ Broadway”

    2. Baz Bamigboye, the Daily Mail columnist that some may think of as the West End version of Riedel, reports that Imelda Staunton will Star in West End Revival of FOLLIES at the National Theatre in 2017
Hearing this news makes me wonder if Ms Staunton has found Ivo Van Hove’s replicating machine… She certainly is popping up everywhere.

    3. In the milestone section, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS Celebrates 100th Performance Last Night
The critically acclaimed play Small Mouth Sounds, written by Bess Wohl and directed by Obie Award-winner Rachel Chavkin, celebrated 100 performances last night
The show began performances on Sunday, July 3rd, opened on July 13th to rave reviews, and has been extended beyond its original run and must close Sunday, October 9, 2016.
Preview: we will be interviewing Bess Wohl on this weekend’s This Week on Broadway.

    4. You know how I love lists? Well, this one can keep me busy for a week!

    FULL-LENGTH PLAYS
    1. Almost, Maine (John Cariani)
    FULL-LENGTH MUSICALS
    1. The Addams Family (Andrew Lippa, Marshall Brickman, Rick Elice)
    SHORT PLAYS
    1. The Show Must Go On (Laurence Klavan)
If you want the full list, go to the show notes on BroadwayRadio.com and we will have a link.

    5. It has been almost a week since we have mentioned a BroadwayRadio fav Jennifer Ashley Tepper. The young historian and impressario above and below has a feature on the travel website FROMMERS. (No not Abe Froman, Sausage King of Chicago.) On the frommers site, which we will link to in the show notes, Tepper’s photo essay “Hidden Wonders Inside Broadway’s Historic Theaters” teases us with 10 photos and stories.
Where does she find the time? Don’t forget, The Untold Stories of Broadway, Volume 3. is being released soon and makes a great gift for the Broadway love in your life.

    6. You may have missed the first one, but get your rice, newspapers, water pistols and candles in the privacy of your own home and see a sneak peek of Rocky Horror on Thursday nights at one minute to midnight on FOX NOW and HULU. The full ROCKY HORROR comes to FOX October 20

    7. The Fourth Horsemen of the Apocalypse quietly appeared across many, if not all Broadway websites, twitter and facebook feeds in the form of a press release that Grumpy Cat will be appearing in CATS on Broadway today, Friday, September 30, 2016. I really thought it was going to be Trump that ended the world[...]
