Winter sucks, snow sucks, slush sucks, ice sucks, and we all felt that sentiment after this week in NY.  In the first half this week, we talk about our experiences out on the road.  Adam's love for Audis and his Allroad is reaffirmed.  Our movie this week?  2008's RocknRolla, a Guy Ritchie film that is basically what you'd expect.  Then we talk about some news from this past week - Tesla's rolling stop and video game functionality has caught the attention of the NHTSA, as well as a snow plow in Ohio throwing ice and snow into oncoming traffic.  Then we discuss Germany's Autobahn, a recent Bugatti that broke 259 MPH on it, and what it all means.

In Part 2, we talk some more about the interesting Omega 1 rotary-ish engine we mentioned last episode.  Mazda's patent for a new supercharged two-stroke engine.  A long talk about conventional internal combustion engines, and since EVs are staring manufacturers down something hard now, what that means for the ICE in the years to come.  And finally, AJ brings us some trivia but doesn't actually ask us to answer any of it?  Car superstitions, F1 driver lucky charms, and things we ourselves are superstitious of?

Happy 2022 and welcome to Season 2 of Broke Car Snobs!  We're back finally - the month of January has been at the same time long, short, chaotic, and boring.  Let's dive in shall we?  In the first half, we get brought up to speed on what we've all been doing.  Bruce bought another RC truck, Adam bought far too many car parts, and AJ bought a car wash.  All of us caught COVID at the same time (Adam unconfirmed) and we've all been having trouble starting our cars with this damn freezing weather we're in.  In Bruce's case, slow cranking. In Adam's, no cranking at all.  Also in this half, January's PetrolBox gets opened!

In the second half, we talk about some upcoming car events, despite it being winter.  The soonest being Syracuse's Auto Expo at the OnCenter, which should offer an exciting look at what the auto manufacturers have to offer.  Also Watkins Glen's opening weekend is on our schedule for the second year in a row.  Adam brings some news articles, we debate the ethics of ranch dressing on pizza, and AJ starts this season's trivia with more movies described poorly.

The holiday season will be halfway over when this episode drops, so we hope you all had a great Christmas, got some sweet new car parts to install come spring time, and we want to wish you a Happy New Year.  This is our season finale for 2021, and in this episode we spend probably the first 30 minutes not talking cars at all.  Once we get rolling and on topic - Christmas car ads are bullshit, and so are Sweet 16 birthdays where they get a car.  We do dive a little deeper into car ads though, from how the horse industry imploded, seatbelts, and on to how things have changed over the automobile's history.

In Part Deuce - we open December's holiday-inspired PetrolBox.  What goodies could be in store?  Adam brings the news - Tesla does some stuff, Audi does some stuff, Toyota thinks about doing some stuff, and he also talks briefly about Audi's Christmas box.  AJ brings up the rear by testing us with some statistics from across the automotive world.  How much is spent annually on car ads?  What percentage of a car's life is spent stationary?  We try to guess.

Again, this episode will be the last for Season 1, as well as our last for the year 2021.  We'll be taking a break for January, and we hope to see you back and better than ever in Febuary.  Take care folks!

Episode 41 is here, and Adam humbly apologizes for forgetting to turn his mic on.  Again.  In this episode, our movie of the week is 2009's Zombieland.  Lots of SUVs were sacrificed in the making of this film.  We talk about the controversial Time Person of the Year and their tech-company-that-totally-isn't-a-car-company company.  Things in cars that used to be all the rage, that now the public doesn't care about.  Toyota's move to turn remote start keyfobs into a subscription-based offering.  And are NFTs dumb?  What about cryptocurrencies?

In the second half, Adam silently brings us up to speed on his latest Allroad mods.  Including 034Motorsports' Audi B9 strut brace, as well as some VCP codings.  In particular, disabling the keyfob range limiter, changing the service intervals displayed on the MMI, and panic braking indicators.  We talk roof top tents, the ongoing supply chain shortages, and car prices in the US vs Europe.  Finally, AJ brings us his trivia this week - poorly described car movies.  See if you can guess quicker than we did.

Episode 40 is here.  And in this episode, AJ collects some homework he handed out about what happens when you microwave something metal.  This week's movie, "There Will Be Blood" which is a cheerful holiday movie, if you weren't aware.  Adam talks about how he fixed his Allroad's turn signal issue, and what the cause was.  AJ dealt with some bad drivers with the snow this past week, but Bruce had it even worse.  We discuss Tesla's decision to allow video gaming while driving, and then the Lucid Air.

In the second half, what's it like to do an oil change on a Ford Escape Hybrid?  Pretty easy, save for those wretched skid plates.  A weeks worth of sad events involving cars and water.  AJ brings the trivia.

Episode 39 is here, and this week, we deal with some inadvertent audio level issues.  Why?  Because a certain RC truck ran over the controller.  After we get that straightened out, AJ brings us his latest adventure into almost getting into an accident.  We talk some more about prepping for the winter months ahead.  Adam discovers another European-only option for his Allroad - a powered, retractable tow hitch that disappears under the bumper when not in use!  Bruce ridicules him for it.  Our movie this week?  1994's Airheads, a not great movie.

In the second half of the episode, some cars you'll be able to buy in 2022 that are still being offered with a manual transmission.  #SaveTheManuals.  AJ gets quizzed on his memory, and about the parts of a manual transmission.  Adam discusses his turn signal woes in his Allroad.  Dinosaur knowledge comes to light.  The main segment for Part 2 - tips for being safe while behind the wheel, and in the event you break down or become lost.  A lot of good information and suggestions.  Lastly, trivia, as always.

Episode 38!  In the first half of this episode - some thoughts on preparing for the winter ahead.  Driving recklessly and speeding doesn't really save you much time to your destination.  Can infrared cameras see through a blizzard?  Our movie this episode - The Count of Monte Cristo.  And November's PetrolBox gets opened.

In the second half - Bill O'Reilly counts us in.  What our first purchase would be if we won the lotto.  GM's settlement of their ignition cylinder class action lawsuit.  Adam brings some random news about Audi's thoughts on a hybrid engine for future cars (Wankel, anyone?), Volvo's acquisition of a company specializing in Heads Up Displays (HUDs), and some news out of Japan about the new Subaru WRX.  We discuss Forza Horizon 5 some more, including tuning, complaints so far, and driving manual in the game.  Bruce opines on Mario Kart, Adam brings some old timey photos, and AJ brings the trivia.

Episode 37 fam, and tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  Eat some turkey, get your stuffing on, and enjoy the time with those who're closest to ya.  In the first half of this episode, AJ shows off his knowledge of Italy.  Our movie this week - Thank You For Smoking.  Bruce gets on the Forza bandwagon with a new Xbox, new TV, new internet, new router, new everything.  Adam drools over another car that's for sale online - a C5 RS6 Avant clone.  Technically an S6, but with an RS6 drivetrain and a 6-speed swap!  DANG.  We talk about the John Deere strike, and striking at deers.

In the second half, Adam gives it a go at doing his own trivia.  His section, Car and Driver's 2022 Best 10 cars and trucks - but with our opinions on their picks.  Also the fastest American made cars for each decade.  Then AJ jumps in to save the day, with the largest "wheeled" vehicles on earth, the most unique vehicles he could find, and Bruce and Adam must guess what's so special about 5 random people.  Adam also brings us what happens when the RS4 goes into storage - spending more money on the Allroad.  Some special engine bay trim, European cargo management system, and ECS Tuning Street Shield skid plates are next on the list.

Episode 36 coming at ya.  We wanted to recognize our veterans for their service and their sacrifices - thank you!  In this episode, we talk about how it's been getting colder here in the northeast.  Adam's working weird hours, but those hours are mild compared to the craziness Bruce works.  Eastern Promises is our movie this week.  The first half is a mixed bag of topics, but we do talk a bit about Forza Horizon 5's gameplay.  AJ finds the negative in the game's intro.  We discuss Thanksgiving coming up, what the most comfortable cars would be to live in, and why social media influencers are the literal worst.

In part two, what are some instances that we've been naïve when it comes to cars?  Whether it be from a modification perspective or from a use/every day perspective.  Adam brings up a YouTube video that talked about Smokey Yunick and the changes brought about in response to his competitive edge.  AJ brings a baby dose of trivia and a baby dose of more car-related phrases in another language.

Episode 35 baybeeeeee, and this episode is a good one.  In the first half, we discuss a situation discovered by Japanese marine biologists where hermit crabs find themselves trapped by discarded tires unable to escape.  Philadelphia has elected to not prosecute low-level traffic violations.  The senseless and tragic drunk driving accident that led to the death of a 23 year old in Las Vegas.  And coming together to discuss cars we've found for sale on the interwebs.

In the second half, the McRib is back (and it almost was the episode cover, I swear)!  We try to guess what cars were driven by some famous serial/spree killers.  We debate the pronunciation of macabre.  Do we really need backup cameras?  A VW Beetle with a Honda S2K drivetrain underneath.  AJ brings the trivia by making us guess the car part, spoken in another language.  Adam interrupt the episode with talk about another bucket list mod for the Allroad, Bruce declares a mistrial, and AJ has to give us one more impromptu trivia question.
