Since we've been slacking the last couple weeks, in the first half of this episode we banged out a Brendan Fraser movie triple feature.  1999's "Blast from the Past", 2004's "Van Helsing", and 2000's "Bedazzled."  All of which are undoubtedly car-centric movies.  AJ joined us for another Wegmans Cars & Coffee this morning, but unfortunately this one was basically rained out.  Shoutouts are in order though, to the owner of the slick looking RS3 as well as a beautiful S2000 - it was great talking to you guys.  We later go on to talk about local racetracks, or the lack thereof, and how great it would be to have more options locally.  Then a couple of noteworthy YouTube videos which will are linked below.  And finally, Adam discusses his inspection woes when it comes to a certain Audi Allroad.

In the second half, Adam's upcoming road trip out to the midwest.  An impassioned discussion about opening potentially hot/pressurized coolant recovery tanks, and how important it is to be safe and cautious when working on your car.  Then, an impromptu critical analysis of Star Wars: Episode One - The Phantom Menace.  Finally, AJ brings us his latest segment, guessing car-related songs by their lyrics only.  Full disclosure, Bruce and Adam aren't that good at it.

Episode 23 coming at you - this week starts out with us talking about Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, a game that puts you in the shoes of a mechanic while fixing cars.  Not a 100% accurate representation of the field, but AJ has been learning the basics and shares his newfound knowledge.  Then, a thread found on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/askcarsales/comments/p0l5qg/is_there_a_reason_why_dealerships_are_against_me/) where someone asks why dealerships won't allow a prospective buyer to take a car to a third party for what's known as a pre-purchase inspection, or PPI.  The thought is that a third party, which has no ulterior motives, will be more honest about potential issues with a user car.

In the second half, a question from one of our listeners - what's our thoughts on a recent study that found that 17 different self-driving cars could be fooled quite easily.  This segues nicely into a conversation about legislating such things, as well as the new proposed (potentially passed?) infrastructure bill that requires the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to come up with guidelines within three years on how auto manufacturers will incorporate detection of impaired drivers - whether it be tired, drunk, or high.  We then bring up some new cars donning older name plates (Countach and Integra), Ford continues to have Bronco problems, and AJ brings us his new segment - one that might "Tickle Your Tailpipe."

This episode is just one gigantic fever dream.

In the first half of this week's episode, we talk about the Audi Lawn Show hosted by the Saratoga Automobile Museum of Saratoga Springs, NY!  An awesome event that was attended by some serious Audi fans - some standouts being an UrS4, one of the new e-tron GTs (!), two (!!) C5 RS6s, multiple R8s, and of course, the singular B7 RS4 that was in attendance.  The trio also visited the museum itself, and were wowed by the current exhibit - Porsches.  Bruce was in his element.

In the second half, AJ brings us some of the weirdest names to grace a production vehicle.  Bruce brings us some interesting news from the past week, including some "widespread" Bronco issues.  We offer our recommendations on SUVs, and debate the difference between an SUV and a crossover.  And finally, AJ gets quizzed on his ever-improving car knowledge, while Bruce and Adam take stabs at some true or false trivia.

In the first half of this week's episode, Bruce brings his Kyosho MA-020 Mini-Z Impreza WRC 2008 RC car to the table, in all of its insanely detailed glory.  The ethics and morality of the movie Indian in the Cupboard is discussed, and we skip entirely our ACTUAL movie of the week, which was 2001's Zoolander.  AJ brings up Audi's 2022 RS3 facelift, and the crew criticize America's lack of hatchback and wagon options.  We shift our morality spotlight onto the legality of requiring drivers to wear seatbelts (if you don't, please start!) which segues into the scariest scenarios you hopefully never find yourself in when behind the wheel.  Also, pushing moose's out of airplanes.

In Part 2, the rant Adam alluded to earlier in the week.  Do intakes for this platform truly require a tune, or are the forums and "enthusiasts" just regurgitating rhetoric that simply doesn't make any sense?  What is a MAF and what purpose does it serve, if air can simply "sneak" around it?  Complete and utter nonsense in his opinion.  BUT, moving on...  Vegans, more RS3 talk, and how some people in the US have made their own super fast Audi wagons.  And finally, AJ brings us the most stupid and ridiculous laws from literally every state in America.

In this week's episode, we introduce our fourth co-host, while discussing the virtues of patience while behind the wheel.  That leads us nicely into the automotive version of "Karens" that seem to be all over the media lately.  We recount experiences we've heard of on the news, and experienced in real life, of these awful human beings.  After quizzing AJ some more, an LS that's getting rebuilt because of some quality Valvoline work.

In the second half, we dive into the continuing nanny-state situation California keeps finding itself in.  This time, with their recent mandate of banning modified, or tuned, ECUs in the public's cars.  If you're tuned in any capacity, if it isn't OEM, chances are your car will fail Cali's new emissions inspections.  We talk some workarounds, the merits of these new rules, and how hopefully NY stays far away from it.  Next up, how Henry Ford was apparently an idiot, but then we talk about how Ford itself is not - from making their F-150 Lightning relatively cheap, to how they tricked suppliers into providing more than they bargained for.  We round out the episode with AJ's trivia, and a discussion of notable car pile-ups and crashes over the years.

That's right, another car meet; another angry old man.  We discuss proper car show etiquette and what the entire point of a car meet is - hint, it's not being sensitive about loud cars.  This past week Bruce and Adam hit up two meets, Friday and Saturday, and they talk about what was seen and what was experienced.  And also, this week's movie - 1992's A League of Their Own, for which there were plentiful cars for us to discuss.

Part Deuce, Adam quizzes AJ on his car knowledge and talks about the exhaust work done to his Allroad recently.  The crew then move on to talk about what makes a shop a good one.  Treating their customers, and their rides, with respect is obviously up there.  But can a shop being hoity-toity or legitimately snobby really be a bad thing?  AJ then brings us his legendary trivia, and rounds out this episode with a new game - Guess the Manufacturer's Slogan.  "Like a Rock" ring a bell anyone?

Bruce gets hit, Adam is suspiciously quiet, and AJ's dedication gets acknowledged.

In Part 1 of this week's episode, we start with the Route 31 Cars & Coffee Round Dos, and this week's movie - 2020's mind bending film from Christopher Nolan, "Tenet".  We agree to refer to Moe's henceforth as Not Chipotle.  Some discussion as to the uniqueness of some cars that show up to car meets and shows.  Bruce tells us more about his run in with a little old lady (who probably shouldn't be driving still), and AJ gives us the lowdown on his experience driving one of Tesla's Model 3s.

In Part 2, Bruce and Adam discuss their love of drivers who just can't...  Do...  The speed limit...  Adam's car will be going under the knife again, this time for some exhaust work.  We talk the B9 platform's exhaust weaknesses, as well as what the term "DSG Fart" means.  Then, an app to find car parts, USPS' new mail carrier gets a new powertrain, and some talk about this year's Pike's Peak.  Finally, AJ gives us the History of Roads, and we play a game of Guess the Brand Logo - as described by AJ.

Holy crap that's a first.

In this week's episode, we did a double feature for our car movie - 2000's Road Trip, and 2006's Accepted.  Ask me about my wiener.  Following our critical theatrical assessment, we debate the car industry or something like that.  Then our first main segment - Bruce and Adam take the RS4 to the Route 31 Cars n Coffee at a local Wegmans, and see both a tank and a DeTomaso Pantera!  And no, we don't mean a band covered in tomatoes.  A discussion proceeds as to proper car meet etiquette, as well as some interesting behaviors we've witnessed at meets like this.

In Part Dos, AJ brings the pain in the form of some Grade A, top tier car jokes.  And then, mistakes we've made while working on our cars as well as some risks involved when you start modifying.  Bruce brings us some news, including a couple automotive icons that are up for sale, as well as reports of a new Nürburgring King.  And finally, the always entertaining trivia portion.  This episode we follow up last week's mechanic know-how quiz with some more questions in the same vein.  Some of this week's batch threw us for a loop - did you do better than we did?

In this week's episode, the trio discuss how to prepare yourself and your car for excessively hot weather.  The most important bit of information being what temperature pee boils at (true story).  Following the same vein, we spend the rest of the first half talking about knowledge that every driver should know about their car and their car's maintenance.  From how to put a spare on, to recovering from a skid, to how to jump start a dead battery - we've got you on all the essentials.

In the second half, a certain Allroad will be going under the knife again, this time for an upgraded sway bar from 034Motorsport.  We talk about our movie this week, which was 2004's EuroTrip.  A legitimate car movie.  Bruce brings up the crazy scenario that towing a Tesla will actually recharge its battery.  And finally, AJ quizzes Bruce and Adam on trivia that every auto mechanic should know.  See how you stack up and let us know some other diagnoses you've experienced firsthand?
