  • Broken & Blessed, Ep: 008 – Be Still

Be still is the topic of this episode.  Often times in life we move to fast, we worry or stress about matters that we might not even have control over. We fear the outcome of something or we fear the unknown. It’s times such as these is when we need to “Be Still” trust God, talk to God. Here is a clip from the show, James is talking about an author by the name CS Lewis and in one of his books wrote a conversation between Satan and Jesus….

CS Lewis, had some great books, great aspects on theology, but he wrote this in 1942. And here we are, 78 years later and he wrote this in a book and he said, This is Satan talking, says “I will cause anxiety, fear and panic. I will shut down businesses, schools, places of worship and sports events, I will cause economic turmoil.” Now, Jesus responds to Satan and they're having a conversation. Jesus says, “I'll bring together neighbors, restore the family unit. I'll bring dinners back to the kitchen table. I will help people slow down their lives and appreciate what really matters. I will teach my children to rely on me and not the world. I would teach my children to trust me and not their money and material resources.”

Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations I will be exalted in the earth.

  • Broken & Blessed, Ep: 007 – What does it mean to be a Servant Leader?

What does it mean to be a Servant leader? Take a listen as the guys breakdown leadership but more importantly servant leadership.

I like to add the term servant leadership, because it humbles the term. It puts us in a position of saying, you know what, you're not on top. You're not the guy with the corner office with all the windows. Servant leadership is the guy… If you look at the picture of the guy on the bottom, holding a platform and everyone who works for him or her, he or she is supporting, lifting them up making THEM better, providing the foundation for them to succeed. That servant leader is humbling themselves before God. And before people.

John 3:30 - He must become greater; I must become less.

  • Broken & Blessed, Ep: 006 – Priorities

In this week’s episode we discuss Priorities. What does that word mean to you?  What are YOUR Priorities?

It is said that you can see ones priorities by looking at their checkbook or bank statement (do people still use checkbooks?) Take a listen as the guys peel back a few layers with some personal experiences when it comes to this topic.

Matthew 6:33 - It says, But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.
If you're not sure, maybe you're listening to us right now talking about priorities and you're like, Man, these dudes are right. I need to sit down, like maybe I don't have my priorities straight. Than sit down and write out what's important to you. Just make a list!  Just bullet point, doesn't have to be hard, take a piece of paper… Take a piece of paper and put some bullet points on what's important to you in your life.  And then you can go back and start prioritizing, and WE hope, if you don’t already have, We hope you put God first in your life.

  • Broken & Blessed, Ep: 005 – How BROKEN are we?

How many times in your life have you felt broken? What have you done to overcome that. We all have felt that way at some point in our lives. We live in a world right now that, as a whole one could argue that it is broke. Broke with sin, broke in spirit, whatever it may be… It is times like these, is where we need God more than ever.

The definition of broken (Webster dictionary) - : violently separated into parts : SHATTERED

Psalms 51:17 - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, oh god, you will not despise.

“four or five months ago, you and I sat around talking about this, and knowing that this was something that God put on our heart because we are two broken men, but we're blessed by the love, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. But the realization that we are broken, that we need Jesus in our lives, but that seems to be the resoundingly term. It's a term that's been just utilized in so many messages. And it's great. It's great that that this message that this ideology is getting out there, because true Christianity. We need to realize that we're broken individuals, we need to realize that we need Jesus more than ever.” ~James Boggs

  • Ep: 004 – Intentional Relationships with Special Guest, Cal Walters

This show is titled Intentional relationships, what are your relationships like with your loved ones? What’s your relationship with God? We have a special guest for you in this episode a Mr. Cal Walters.  Cal is a fellow podcast host, his show is called Intentional Living & Leadership, he also has a blog, both can be found on his website (https://www.calwalters.me)   Take a listen as we dive in and discuss Intentional relationships and hear Cal’s incredible story in finding Jesus.

(25:27) "But that night, I experienced Jesus in a way I'd never experienced before. I didn't have committed my life to Christ that night. I had a girl who was in the youth group who I had a crush on. And she invited me after that to come over and read the Bible. And I was like, of course, like, had this crush on this girl. So I came over and I ended up, I thought, I was gonna be spending time with this girl and ended up falling in love with the scriptures. I ended up for the first time probably ever for my for my own self reading the Bible, reading about Jesus, reading about you know, the words of Paul.  So my whole high school experience was completely transformative of finishing up that first semester, my eighth grade year I ended up joining the football team early, getting on the varsity team early, and being the student body president doing all these things ended up obviously going to college. But I mean, this, this experience completely transformed me and my life from that moment, or at least my mission completely changed. Now. It's all about spreading the gospel. It's all about sharing with others, the good news of Jesus loving people, of course, I have been far from perfect, but my mission has completely changed ever since that, that moment where I came to know Jesus in eighth grade.

    "29:09"
“it's a story that obviously God gave to me. And I think a lot of people think they have to be perfect before they come to Jesus, you know, and I think that's the lesson that I learned is in my moment where I felt the least perfect in my moment where I was at my lowest of lows, and it doesn't have to be your lowest of lows. I mean, Jesus takes us as we are. And I think that's the beauty of it. And I think as the church we don't always do the best job of inviting people in, you know, just as they are. I think sometimes we, we start, we start with behavior change. We're like, Hey, you need to change your life, and then come to Jesus. But I think that's that's the opposite Jesus's relationship with you will inevitably start to change your life, and it's not going to get easier. I mean, I think there's also that problem too. It doesn't necessarily mean It's gonna get easier, but it will be more purpose filled. And I think what gives me courage is, I guess the simplicity of the the mission that Jesus gave us just to go and love him love others make disciples, you know, share, bring other people to him. You know, so if anyone's out there listening, you know, I would just encourage you don't worry about being perfect. Jesus is the one who's perfect and he allows us through His grace, to be made new to truly be made new to be transformed, because of what he did this day, you know, in the resurrection. So it's not about us, but it's certainly all about him.”

  • Ep: 003 – War Stories: A Battle Within

In this episode, we talk about War Stories.  Not the ones that take place in a faraway land but the war that battles on within.

James: 2:42 - You know what we got a great, great show for everyone today it is called war stories. Now people are probably out there thinking here are two guys who have served in the US military who are going to talk about make believe stories in the sandbox and draw pictures with their foot and sand. But we're not.

What do we mean by war stories?

James: 3:37 - And the war stories we're going to speak about are the spiritual war that surrounds us, as Christians, any in here, check this out. I'm gonna get deep. Even if you're not a Christian. Even if you're not a believer in Jesus Christ. There's a war raging around you and it is being fought by angels and demons and they are after you. I truly believe this and people call you call me crazy. You could call me delusional. But I believe our soul, our relationship with God is at the forefront the focal point of Satan. He doesn't want it to progress. He doesn't want it to exist. And they will wage war to throw everything at us to make a stumble to ensnare us to get a foothold on us. So, we don't grow closer with God.

Adam: 8:48 - the biggest war story or the start of the war, within me, would be when I when I made a conscious decision, is taking my morals and my beliefs and I put them in the closet for a few years. And that was that was a that was a dark time.

Isaiah 26:8 - Yes, in the way of Your judgments,O Lord, we have waited for You;The desire of oursoul isfor Your nameAnd for the remembrance of You.
