What the hell are you watching? Do you find yourself asking that question to your kids? Are your children consuming questionable TV, Radio, or social media? How do you limit their exposure to less than reputable entertainment? Can you even stop them from finding the garbage on the internet? 

In a 2015 article titled "What are authoritarian, permissive, uninvolved, and authoritative parenting styles?" author Graeme Stuart describes the four parenting styles that most parents fall into. In this episode, the brothers discuss their self-assessment of which parenting style they believe they align more with and how it has affected their children's development.

To kick off season two, we decided to start with our popular Father’s Day Special. In keeping with tradition, we asked one of our fathers to join the discussion today. Today we have my father, R.C., joining the conversation. As a father, we will discuss some of the most challenging moments he had while raising my siblings and me? What are his views on fatherhood, and have they changed due to the environment? What are the essential ingredients in raising children into successful adults?

Should we, as fathers, encourage our children to play a sport or enroll in some type of extracurricular activity? If so, how involved should you be in their sport/ extracurricular activity? 

Is chivalry dead? As a community, do we still value chivalrous courtesies and customs? Opening doors for ladies, providing a jacket to a woman when she's without and cold, walking on the street side to shield a woman for potential harm are just examples of chivalrous behavior in today's society. Should we teach our sons to be chivalrous? Do we teach our daughters to demand this from black males? Also, has the new generation lost all forms of respect for their elders? Is this something we need to fix? Do we need to emphasize when parenting our children about respect for their Elders? Will instilling respect for one's elders within our children be enough to change the black community's culture? 

How vital is Higher Education for the future of our children? Is college necessary for our children to succeed? Do we, as fathers, need to ensure our children get a post-secondary education to reach their full potential? What are the benefits of obtaining a degree in today's society? Is the juice worth the squeeze? 

In celebration of Father’s Day we have a special Episode. We will have one of our Father’s join us in the conversation where we asked, what was the hardest moment that you experienced as a father, past and present?

In the Black Community here in the U.S., it’s safe to say that we struggle as a hole teaching our children valuable lessons about money. Financial Literacy is an essential attribute in establishing generational wealth. Parents are responsible for teaching their children financial Literacy, but in the black community, we often lack the necessary toolset to educate our youth correctly. We often miseducate our children about money. So, how do we fix the misinformation to teach our children, for the way forward?
