We met Dr. Ballard at the Cosmic Summit, and decided we'd love to have her on the podcast to discuss her work. She is a Geologist and Biogeographist, and a member of the Comet Research Group. She became interested in the YDIH and started drilling lake cores looking for evidence of biomass burning. Luke is an Anthropology student who specializes in the study of the ancient Maya. He is also one of the presenters for the Cosmic Summit. When we heard what Luke was going to talk about at the Summit, we decided we had to get him on the show. We contacted him, and it turned out he was right in our area, so he drove out to join us in person in the Tangent Cube to talk about his background and his experiences traversing the deep jungles of Mexico and Belize, looking for lost Mayan ruins.
