After a long hiatus due to the Queen’s death and the international break, Liverpool returned to action in the Premier League against high-flying Brighton. Klopp’s men made a diabolical start to the match (they could’ve been 4 rather than 2 goals down!) before they rallied back to take a deserved 3-2 lead after some fine-work from in-form Firmino. Unfortunately, our shaky defence couldn’t hold firm for the 3 points. The Redman have a mere 10 points from a possible 21. We discuss the underlying reasons for our limp form and question whether Klopp should be making some short-term tactical changes to tighten us up at the back until confidence returns. Up the Reds!

Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. The Reds played their first game of the season at Anfield but couldn’t complete the comeback from a Zaha sucker-punch after Nunez was sent off for violent conduct. The Kopites, in a much improved performance, played well in the opening half an hour, creating good chances which they couldn’t convert after fielding an altered line-up featuring Nat Phillips, Milly and Harvey. Ironically, Klopp’s men played their best football with 10 men as Salah and Carvalho went close late-on after a mesmeric dribble and finish from the indefatigable Dias to level it. After hoping for a fast start, we’ll have to settle for a false start to this season. Old Trafford awaits…Up the Reds!

Follow us on twitter @BrothersRed5. A crashing disappointment as Liverpool draw their opening fixture to newly disappointing Fulham. The Reds didn’t have the right attitude according to Klopp in the opening stages and failed to get their passing game going against an organised and ebullient Fulham who deployed an excellent press led by Mitrovic. Liverpool could and perhaps should have found a way to get three points in the second half after Darwin Nunez made an immediate impact from the bench with some sensational forward play but a defensive calamity from our usually reliable defence left us down. Thiago also suffered a hamstring injury; when it rains, it pours. A victory against Palace a week on Monday should lift our spirits. Up the Reds!

We all know that there's a fine line between success and failure. Liverpool have shown this season that there's an even finer line between success and immortality. Liverpool had to settle merely for success this season but what a ride it was. Liverpool won two domestic cups, beating Chelsea twice on penalties, we were runners up in the Premier League by one point with 92 points (enough to win the title in most seasons), taking the title to the last 15 minutes or so of the final game, and we lost the Champions league final to Real Madrid by a single goal. In a final episode of the season, we have an interesting debate about what went wrong and what we need to improve next season.
