Proximity and Posture to God
Posture – a particular way of dealing with or considering something, an approach or attitude.
Results of an open heart toward God.
1. Submissive Heart – Character forming
2. Expectant Heart – Believing the Promises
3. Obedient Heart – “yes sir”
4. Giving Heart – irrational!
5. Restored Heart – healing past hurt/pains
It talks transparency and vulnerability with God!
Psalm 51:10 TPT Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Proximity – nearness in space, time or relationship.
God doesn’t see the Relational boundaries we put in place. We often project our relational problems with others onto God. ill. Caris If your proximity to God seems off, check your posture. According to the spirit not the flesh.

Having the right Posture and Proximity requires prayer!
Don’t overcomplicate prayer! It’s a conversation with God!
Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
God’s Posture – I will answer, I will show you great and mighty things! (yes and amen!)
When we want to feel God’s presence we pray/cry out to Him – “God Help Me!”
Often times when we feel His presence we pray – “Thank you God for what you are doing…”
Prayer is a tool to help us build intimacy and relationship with God. It’s not a shopping list or request time.
Posture + Proximity = intimacy – A deep closeness, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship. A detailed knowledge or deep understanding. Privacy, especially as suitable to the telling of a secret.

IN MY NAME – that requests must be made “in my name.” This implies someone who is acting according to the will and authority of someone else. (UNPACK)
This means, as My representatives on earth, as persons doing My work, living in My spirit, seeking as I have sought to do the will of the Father.
Hannah prays and ask God for a son. – Samuel is born. (1 Samuel 1:17)
Daniel prayed—starving lions went on a diet. (Daniel 6:20)
Elisha prays his servant’s eyes would be opened – His servant sees the armies of God surrounding the enemy. (2 Kings 6:16)
BUT I prayed—nothing happened
Prayed for the Cowboys (for years)—evidently not answered
Prayed for sick loved one—died!
Praying to conceive a child.
Prayed my parents wouldn’t get divorced—ugly!
Praying for a loved one to find Jesus—seem to go wrong direction!
Why does it seem God does not hear me?

1. Relationships with Others Impact Our Relationship With God
We project relationship issues with others onto our relationship with God. We allow personal relational issues with others to become barriers to our prayer life with God.
Un-forgiveness is a huge relational barrier that affects out prayer life.
Mark 11:24-25 NIV I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
Cannot say you love God & hate your brother
