Made Clean

Because of Jesus:

We celebrate that we don’t have to ever wonder if we are loved. – He came to show us how much we are loved.

We celebrate because we can know that as long as we acknowledge and accept Jesus as the only way to the Father, we can be on a journey towards a life of wonder and eternity, free from guilt condemnation,  and shame.

There is a grace for all. A grace that makes Jesus available to all. But there is a greater life available for those who pick up that grace and start walking out the promises that Jesus came to give us.

Because He has offered us a life far beyond what we could hope dream or imagine, we have a response to make.

This is not a one size fits all gig. His life, His principles, His salvation, His promises are His and His alone, and so we have to accept Him and Him alone.

No one has taught like Jesus, no one has shared divine principles like Jesus, no one has offered salvation like Jesus, no one has removed any obstruction, even death like Jesus. 

And so those things that He has declared can only become yours if you acknowledge Him and Him alone.

Our faith becomes effective when we acknowledge every good thing that has been placed in us by Jesus! – Philemon 1:6

Acknowledge Him – not your past

Acknowledge Him – not your addiction

Acknowledge Him – not your selfishness

Acknowledge Him – not your intelligence

Acknowledge Him – not your abilities

Acknowledge Him – not your hurt

Acknowledge Him – not your circumstance

Acknowledge Him – not your desires

Acknowledge Him – not your agenda

The promise made is what He sees not your current circumstance.

On earth -> right hand of God

Eternity -> death

Holy -> rejected

Loved -> alone

Righteous -> wrongful

Perfect faith -> doubt

He promotes you according to the promise that your faith in Him activates and not your circumstance.

But it is that promise, activated by faith that makes us want to live it out. 

It makes us want to be Holy because He calls us Holy. 

It makes us want to be righteous because that’s what He made us by His promise.

He sees as at both the beginning of the journey and at the end. He knows what you are yet to become in Him!

It is the promise spoken over your brokenness that starts a powerful journey in all of us.

He sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people who are his very own, passionate to do what is beautiful in his eyes. – Titus 2:14

We can not see the promise. We can not see the outcome. But by our faith in Jesus we can begin to live towards it.

We need to accept that He accepts us as we are so He can take us where He sees us to be.

We need to embrace His promises. We need to feel the wonder of being declared Holy and Righteous, being declared healed, someone with a purpose, someone who is seen by God, because of Jesus, as being made clean!

Listen as Jesus says to you: “Your faith in me has made you clean.”

The Unexpected Disciple

THE “AMAZINGNESS” OF GRACE

Jesus-established an atmosphere of eternal possibilities.

He opened the possibility…

A promise spoken while we were still broken.

We accepted what Jesus offered and that same Grace opened an eternal relationship with the Father and as a result – salvation.

And now Grace called us Holy righteous and sanctified.

A promise, when accepted, that heals our brokenness.

Our faith and our focus determines the power of Grace to move from our current circumstance towards the promise of Christ.

A promise that turns brokenness into power. Grace is not only the ability to know of the promise but also the power to move towards it. 

2 CORINTHIANS 5:16-17

So, from now on, we refuse to evaluate people merely by their outward appearances. For that’s how we once viewed the Anointed One, but no longer do we see him with limited human insight.

Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.

A NEW LIFE

Move from your current circumstance towards where Jesus promises you actually are.

We are holy, we are righteous, we are clean – and that gives access to the heavenly  view of this world and the heavenly view of our circumstances

Realization of your heavenly position despite your earthly circumstance.

If we don’t believe what He has promised, admitting a belief in something other than Jesus

You may know of Him, but there is a difference in knowing of Him and following Him.

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 

On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’

But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL

It is not easy from within a trial to see the joy!

He is calling us to see the bigger picture.

ROMANS 12:1-2

 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. 

Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation.

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 

Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 

In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncirc

The Supremacy of Christ

He is the divine portrait, the true likeness of the invisible God, and the firstborn heir of all creation. For in him was created the universe of things, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority—it all exists through him and for his purpose! He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in him.

He is the Head of his body, which is the church. And since he is the beginning and the firstborn heir in resurrection, he is the most exalted One, holding first place in everything. For God is satisfied to have all his fullness dwelling in Christ. And by the blood of his cross, everything in heaven and earth is brought back to himself—back to its original intent, restored to innocence again!

A world of human dichotomy but of heavenly unity

Where enemies and forgiveness can coexist

Where joy and hardship can be experienced at the same time

Where the merciful are the victors

The last are first again

That which is not is seen is as though it were

Where understanding is trumped by faith

Where the unseen is just a tangible as the seen

Where partiality is not an option

When the craziness of unity obliterates segregation

Where the only tears are ones of restoration

Where God’s existence is a given and not proven

The word Son of Man has to do with his humanity. God becoming a man. He is truly a man. 

But distinguished from all other men. He is the perfect man. He is the one who represent his people to the Father. 

The second Adam. The God-man. God manifest in the flesh.

In The Grave – Son of God

Psalm 2:7

The king proclaims the Lord’s decree:

“The Lord said to me, ‘You are my son. Today I have become your Father.

The word Son of God has to do with the deity of Christ.  He is truly God.

The Power 

Romans 8:11

Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!

The Power is knowing that you have power and authority over your flesh. Its a fight, its a battle, its a struggle  ut you have authority…

Not only do you have the power to bring your flesh, emotions an d feelings into line, but you have a promise of an eternal future. 

When you combine power over your life now with the hope of an eternal future – you get to be,  not just any conqueror, but you become more than a conqueror.

Gives you the right to conquer…

Jesus on the cross takes care of our sins

The grave takes care of our desire to sin.

No longer running around…

The Power of Grace

American Expressions

“Bless your heart.” –  You’re are an idiot

But it is great as it actually describes God’s approach to you AND the whole series.

Romans 5:8 – The Passion Translation

But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!

Current and default state: Separated from God

Man was designed to be born into a default state of being in relationship with God.

Natural desire to want to know God/Know of God.

We CHOSE to separate ourselves from God.

Genesis 3:8

“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”

We hide in who we have become. We use our entrapments as our excuse and we think we could never change and get out…

He provides grace (prevenient) to chance our spiritual status 

John 6:45

As it is written in the Scriptures, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to the  Father and learns from him comes to me.

Prevenient grace is a phrase used to describe the grace given by God that precedes the act of a sinner exercising saving faith in Jesus Christ. The term prevenient comes from a Latin word that meant ”to come before, to anticipate.”

He provides grace (sanctifying) to get us thinking correctly

The word sanctify means “to set a person apart for holiness” or “to make holy.”

We begin to think that we are different, changed, we have what it takes

Romans 3:22–24

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

He provides grace to align us to true life (Justifying grace)

The process by which God makes us in reality what we already are positionally.

Romans 5:18-19

Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 

For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” 

It is because of justification that the peace of God can rule in our lives. It is because of justification that believers can have assurance of salvation. 

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

ALL THREE AT ONCE

Grace given not deserved

Grace calling us good enough

Grace correcting that which takes us from God

Grace is that what is needed to be done in the divine to connect you to God, that you can not possibly do yourself.

THE POWER OF GRACE

Grace enables

Grace promotes (elevates)

Grace empowers

Grace is power because it is a promise spoken and a promise kept all at the same time.

The divine force of grace has got to have an effect on me. I have got to let it. 

The Gospel is the story of good news. Grace is the effect of that story on my life.

It is my hope and my salvation. It is what will take me from where I do not want to be to a place where I really desire to be.

THE RESPONSE TO GRACE

It is not God’s miracle cure. It is not a get out of jail card.

Our response (by faith) is what activates the power of the Gospel:

Red – Jesus (Don’t forget me when I am gone)

White – Made Clean (Who Me?)

Blue – Follow (Responsible?)

Green – Grow (To eternity and beyond)

Gold – Hope (I KNOW I Can)
