BS With Friends!

Sorry for the break y'all, we've been doing a lot of renovating in the Ar-Bar-Etum! So for this one we pulled in a ringer, Robbie "vApathyv" Russell to discuss Blade Runner! But of course we get started with news, such as the Alamo Drafthouse bankruptcy and WB's response to Zack Snyder's Justice League getting an IMAX release. So pour yourself a drink and join us!

Friends! We've got a long one but it's a good one! Recurring friend of the show Alex Katz joins us while we discuss the upcoming Zack Snyder's Justice League, the Paramount Plus lineup, and the bonus from AMC's CEO. And after news, it's a mighty in-depth discussion of the Polish art film On the Silver Globe. An important piece of sci-fi history that Max walks us through and has been pretty much buried by the Polish government. But if you'd like to have all the context, a free, legal, and safe source is provided below.

Like all good things, the month for love and romance has come to an end. To get the boll rolling, Max and Xzy discuss the horrible attempted comeback by Brett Ratner, Edgar Wright's upcoming The Running Man adaptation, and two big trailer drops! Mortal Kombat and Cruella.

Then finally, it's the movie to round out our romcom month, Jon Turteltaub's bewildering and charming 1995 film While You Were Sleeping starring Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman.

There's so much in the air! Max and Xzy bring you a long one where we discuss black cinema for Black History Month, Gina Carano's weird but deserved firing, Joss Whedon's probably true accusations against him, and the threat of more Justice League and how the hell the WB/DC franchise got here (again). Finally capped off with the Coen Brothers' Intolerable Cruelty starring George Clooney and Catherine-Zeta Jones. If you can, please pour yourself a drink and join us. And to our friends in dire straits, you can find us @BSWithFriends, where we'd be more than happy to help you find resources. Please stay safe friends. And with that, on with the show...

Friends, the love continues to blossom! Pour yourself a drink and join us, as Max and Xzy discuss the Golden Globe nominees, the incredible life of the late Christopher Plummer, and react in real time to the latest Fast 9 trailer. Then, the month long romcom theme finally gets genuinely lovable and cute as heck with Nancy Meyer's Something's Gotta Give. It's seriously very cute.

Friends! Lovers! It's the month of romance! Max and Xzy discuss the ongoing AMC stock situation, a new report of a decline in original television and it's relevancy to the...one hundred streaming services in the last few years...and a new Cloverfield film. But you came here for the sweet feeling of romance that we all crave and exactly one of us finds it in 2010's Valentine's Day starring basically everyone.

Hello friends and welcome to another birthday episode! Pour a drink and joins us for this very special episode. First things first, there's a lot of news such as all the film delays, the rumored break up between Christopher Nolan and WB, and a lot of Godzilla vs. Kong opinions and predictions. Then, for Xzy's birthday, we watched Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and discuss it's surprisingly bizarre pre-production history and place in the WB/DC business model.

Grab a drink and join us...FOR MURDER! Max and Xzy are joined by guest host Jennifer Unkle of Scanline Media and the podcast Novel Not New to discuss some quick news bites about failed quick bite platform Quibi as well as some WB updates. Then it's on to the main course, 1985's Clue.

Grab a refreshing beverage and join us friends because it has been a week! Your buds Max and Xzy try to dig up the positives in the insanity that has been one week in 2021 but make time to discuss their comfort media favorites like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Catch Me If You Can, Animaniacs, The Carmichael Show, and others! Followed by Max being tortured to watch a beloved Xzy pick: Miranda July's Me and You and Everyone We Know.

Holy crap, it's 2021! Pour yourself a drink and join us! Nick Valdez from ComicBook.com joins Max and Xzy to discuss the news that broke during the new year. Including WB/DC's multiverse, Patty Jenkins' sudden Wonder Woman 3 involvement, the impression female directors left on 2020 audiences, and how living in the new simultaneously released to streaming world has impacted how we're choosing what we watch this year. Then of course, we ring in the new year the biggest way we know how: a big ol' meaty talk about Shin Godzilla, the history of the big guy himself, and a smattering of talk about Hideaki Anno. For reasons.
